Darksiders II eGuide Walkthrough The Fire of the Mountain

Tri-Stone

Tri-Stone

Tri-Stone is the home of the Makers: venerable creators of worlds. This tranquil setting serves as a place where Death can purchase goods and obtain new quests.

Meet the Makers

Run up the west trail from the Forge Lands and pass through a hollow log to reach the village of Tri-Stone. A younger, yet equally burly, Maker named Thane is busy practicing his combat skills in the north plaza. Speak to Thane to learn a bit more about the Corruption that plagues the Makers’ land. Thane also offers to teach you new attacks and combos for a modest fee.

Side Quest Acquired: “The Maker Warrior”

Destroy the debris that lies around the north plaza; you may discover valuable items. Practice your attack combos on the surrounding wooden posts as well. You can focus on the posts and maneuver around them just like enemies.

When you’ve finished honing your combat skills, venture south and turn right, scaling the west stairs and heading for a gazebo. A blind woman is practicing magic here, and she has anticipated Death’s arrival. This Maker’s name is Muria, and she is a shaman. Muria offers to sell Death a small variety of talismans and potions, and can give the Reaper a bit more insight into the Tree of Life. Muria also bestows upon Death a side quest called “Shaman’s Craft”—accept this quest, as you’ll naturally complete it while performing your primary endeavors here in the Forge Lands.

The Forge Sister

Cut across Tri-Stone’s south plaza and climb the east steps to reach another gazebo. This is where the Makers’ Forge is located. Speak with the Forge Sister, Alya, to advance your quest and learn more about what you must do to clear the giant nest of Corruption that blocks access to the Tree of Life. Alya asks for the Reaper’s help in restarting her forge, and won’t agree to sell Death any of her wares until he has proven his worth.

Ancient Tome

Side Quest Acquired: "The Fire of the Mountain"

Did you notice this curious device on your way to speak with the Forge Sister? This is known as a Tome, and it allows you to send and receive gifts to/from other Darksiders II players. Simply select items in your inventory that you wish to send to friends, or check for any gifts that your friends may have sent you. Receiving gifts is a great way to gain an early advantage!

Speak with Thane

Backtrack to the north plaza and sprint up the curved steps to find both Thane and Eideard waiting near Tri-Stone’s north gate. Speak with Thane, and he’ll open the gate and allow Death to journey toward the Cauldron, the temple from which the Fire of the Mountain flows. Thane also teaches you a free combat move called Harvester Revenge. Question Thane and Eideard to learn more about the Fire of the Mountain and what it will take to reactivate the Makers’s Forge.

Leaving Tri-Stone

Ancient ruins lie beyond Tri-Stone’s north gate.

Dive into the central pool and collect a special item called a Boatman Coin that floats beneath the water. A merchant you've yet to encounter has a special interest in these items, so seek them out.

Wall-run up the west wall to escape the pool, and then climb a ledge and drop off the edge to return to the entry stairs.

Run up the east wall to reach a short trail that leads to the opposite side of the pool. Proceed north to leave these ruins.
