Boss Battle: Jamaerah the Scribe
A mighty angel known as the Scribe resides within the Ivory Citadel’s towering library. Corruption has taken control of the Scribe’s mind, presenting Death with a challenging foe.
Death can attempt to close in and strike the Scribe, but Jamaerah will counter by lashing out with a grotesque tentacle. Instead, keep your distance and open one of the many portals around the ground floor. Then open the opposing portal directly across the room.
The Scribe glows with golden light before unleashing a powerful, linear energy blast. Stand before one of the portals you’ve opened and evade to one side to avoid this deadly strike. If you time it right, Jamaerah’s energy blast will pass through the portals and strike him from behind.
It’s not long before the Scribe becomes stunned by his own attacks. Race forward and unleash Death’s most lethal skills and combos while Jamaerah is slumped in his chair.
After suffering significant damage, Jamaerah will take to the air, power up, and then come crashing back down. Keep near the outside wall and jump to avoid the resulting shockwave. The Scribe then summons a few Corrupted Angels to aid it. Quickly slay these threats, and then work at setting Jamaerah up to blast himself again via the portal trick.
When Jamaerah is near death, he takes to the air once more, and a portal appears beneath him. Use a charged Voidwalker blast to open any of the room’s upper portals, then open the one beneath the Scribe. Switch to the Deathgrip and drop through.
Death rockets out of the upper portal. Quickly Deathgrip the Scribe to close in, and then unleash a midair combo once you’re in range. Repeat this as needed until you finish off Jamaerah.
The Archon’s Betrayal
Having had more than his fill of the angels’ games, Death interrogates Jamaerah regarding the whereabouts of their key. Surprisingly, the Scribe reveals that the Archon possesses it—the once-noble angel has apparently gone quite mad. Question Jamaerah further if you wish before fast-traveling back to the Crystal Spire.
