Front Flip: Front Flip is a special jump that travels full screen. It’s not a standard jump because the only attack that Rashid can come out of it with is Eagle Spike, which is largely unsafe. It’s best used as an escape mechanism off of HK/EX Whirlwind Shot, or for a quick side switch when the opponent is close to Rashid and he’s cornered.

Front Flip Airborne Eagle Spike: Airborne Eagle Spike from Front Flip is very similar to the special attacks performed during Rashid’s normal jump. However, it will auto-correct if he happens to pass over to the other side of the opponent. In that case, Rashid will turn around and dive kick in a new direction. Although this is still unsafe if blocked, you can use this as a tricky way to hit an enemy chasing Rashid down during his escape V-Skill. Use caution and assess whether you can take this risk; you’ll easily take a heavy-strength combo if your adversary is wise to your tricks and blocks it.

Additionally, you can use Front Flip into Airborne Eagle Spike like the command Airborne Eagle Spike in juggles, with arguably easier execution since you can simply input instead of doing a forward jump into motion.

Rolling Assault: Rashid’s alternate V-Skill is done by modifying the normal input with . Rolling Assault is projectile-invincible from frames 5-15 but vulnerable to all other attacks for the entire duration. Rolling Assault isn’t particularly exciting when used in the neutral game, but it makes for interesting setups when used as a cancel from HK/EX Whirlwind Shot, affording you frame advantage for potential frame traps and combos (see the Combos section for more details).

Nail Assault: Nail Assault is a launching kick attack that derives from inputting during Rolling Assault. It’s relatively safe when blocked from a distance (-5) but can be punished by all light attacks if Rashid’s within range. It’s entirely possible to react to projectiles thrown from long range with Rolling Assault Nailing Assault kick for an easy 80 points of damage into a knockdown frame trap or cross-up setup. For instance, after a Nail Assault knockdown, go for (hold) to run at the enemy. If they choose to back quick-recover, you can cancel your running animation into a forward jumping cross-up . Otherwise, you can continue to run and stop in front of them for a frame trap crouching into a potential combo.

Nail Assault also has some uses in combos utilizing EX Whirlwind cancel properties, as seen in Combo 16.

Sliding Roll: Rashid’s V-Reversal is immune to strikes and projectiles up until the last five remaining frames, where he’s vulnerable to all attacks (but in a crouching state). It’s not particularly inspiring, but you may need to use it to relieve pressure, especially if Rashid’s cornered. If you have V-Gauge to spare (and haven’t capped at two stocks), it’s safe to use it at least once, assuming that you have enough stamina (at least around half life left) to build a full two bars before the round is over.

Ysaar: Rashid’s V-Trigger, Ysaar, is a unique mega-projectile attack that lasts for 250 frames, hits three times, and launches the opponent into a juggle state. Ysaar travels slowly across the screen for more than four seconds before dissipating or hitting something (whichever comes first). It’s versatile in its use; you can use it canceled from most of Rashid’s normal and unique attacks (except Beak Assault) to keep up the pressure, providing a high/low mix-up opportunity. You can also use it as a meaty long-lasting projectile during an enemy’s knockdown state, letting you go for even trickier left/right/high/low mix-ups (see the Ysaar Setups section for sample sequences).
