Lift Upper: Cammy performs a quick uppercut straight into the air. At first glance, this attack seems underwhelming with its small range, but it’s actually quite versatile. It boasts the lowest startup in the game for a medium attack, chains into a target combo (see the Lift Combination description), and acts as an effective vertical anti-air. With its four frames of startup, it even allows you to link from standing or crouching jab—a rarity in Street Fighter V (see the Combos section for more details). With only -2 disadvantage on block, it’s also rather safe to use for a two-level hit-confirm using crouching into (see Combo 5).

While Cammy has excellent defensive options against jump-in attacks with her various Cannon Spikes, Lift Upper usually makes for a better tempo-based anti-air because it forces the opponent into an air recovery. The caveat is that it only covers the vertical space directly above Cammy’s head. However, it’s usually worth using over LK Cannon Spike since it gives you a mix-up opportunity and more pressure. You can deflect a cross-up jumping attack with and then dash under the falling foe for a left/right/throw setup.

Knee Bullet: Cammy introduces a new unique attack called Knee Bullet, a seemingly airborne, lunging double-knee attack. This move is primarily used as an engagement tool from around mid range to close range, putting Cammy closer to her enemy while rewarding you with a combo on a successful hit (see Combo 4).

Although this move is safe on block, it’s best used from near-max distance because its -2 disadvantage at point-blank range is less than ideal for offensive pressure. However, the drawback to using it from farther out is that your crouching follow-up may not have enough reach for a link. In those rare cases, you can opt to link into Cross Stinger Assault, provided you have enough meter and your opponent is hit standing, as seen in Combo 4b.

Note that Knee Bullet, while appearing to be an airborne unique attack, does not crush lows, nor is it technically airborne. Its full duration counts as being grounded, so getting interrupted out of it will put you in a grounded hitstun state. It still makes for an excellent attack from just outside of close range; since it’s a heavy-strength unique attack, its active hits will crush medium and light attacks with its higher priority.

Lift Combination: You can cancel Cammy’s Lift Upper into Lift Combination with an input. This target combo can only be canceled into special attacks on hit. Also, because it can only be performed off of (which only connects from close distances), it’s always punishable with a heavy attack combo (-12 on block). Lift Combination is best used when you’re certain that it will hit (see Combo 5).
