Flap Spin: Flap Spin is a two-hit mid-hitting spinning attack. It’s a serviceable mid-range engagement tool that’s +2 on hit and -2 on block. Interestingly, the first spinning slap causes knockdown, whereas the second doesn’t. This means you can cancel it during combos to extend a juggle. For example, connect with counter-hit standing
, then juggle with

(one hit) canceled into either EX Eagle Spike or Altair for a high-damage combo (see Combo 12a). If the second hit of Flap Spin counter-hits, you can link into Combo 11.

Beak Assault: Rashid performs an airborne, hopping elbow attack, reaching just past his sweep range. Like most overhead attacks, he’s left at -4 on block, punishable by most light-strength combos. Beak Assault is better than most overhead attacks thanks to its range and airborne properties (airborne from frames 6-18). However, there are a few frames where Rashid is considered standing before he delivers his elbow, so if he’s interrupted, he’ll be hit grounded instead of out of the air.
Beak Assault is useful in a variety of situations. You can use it as an overhead to combo into an Ysaar setup (see the Ysaar Setups section), as a mid-range surprise poke, or as a finisher move on a low-stamina opponent. It supplements Rashid’s crouching
well since he has an annoying crouching
LP Spinning Mixer sequence.

Triangle Jump/Triangle Jump Down: Rashid has two wall jumps that are both executable between the 14th and 27th jumping frame, provided that he’s touching the edge of the screen during your input of
or
. These jumps give Rashid a massive advantage in mobility, granting him methods of escape and extra offensive techniques unique to him.
For an offensive setup, Rashid can Triangle Jump Down while he’s cornered against a close-range opponent, delivering a cross-up jumping
attack.
Another technique that enhances Rashid’s elusiveness is using HK/EX Whirlwind Shot canceled into Front Flip into the opposite corner (over the enemy’s head), and then canceled into either Triangle Jump or Triangle Jump Down (for potential cross-up jumping
).
