Skip To My Chain: Birdie whips his head and upper body into the space directly in front of him, striking invincibly on the sixth frame after activation. If blocked, Skip To My Chain doesn’t deal as much chip damage as some Critical Arts because it only hits once. This single hit transitions into a cinematic Critical Art sequence if it hits, and it’ll work whether you use it against a grounded foe or as a juggle finisher. Birdie gets a quick jump rope-like chain exercise routine in, with the opponent caught in the chains, of course. If you listen carefully, you can hear Birdie humming, not a care in the world.
It’s one of the game’s beefiest attacks in practical terms, in part because Birdie is likely to confirm into Skip To My Chain from relatively short combos, keeping scaling down. Also, Birdie’s V-Trigger, Enjoy Time, boosts all damage to 120 percent, meaning that STMC’s base damage leaps from 350 to 420. Many hit-confirm combos involve linking Enjoy Time into Birdie’s Critical Art, ensuring a combo with hideous damage. In combos, you’ll typically cancel into STMC from any non-EX version of Bull Head. This works whether using Bull Head for a knockdown after standing
/
, or as a juggle after you launch your adversary with something like Bull Horn
Enjoy Time.
