Street Fighter V eGuide Fighters Dhalsim

Overview

Pros
  • Dhalsim has a large variety of attacks at all ranges.
  • He has the longest-range attacks in the game and projectile attacks for all situations.
  • Thanks to Yoga Teleport and Yoga Float, he has incomparable movement abilities.
Cons
  • With no real reversal attacks, he’s reliant on Yoga Teleport and his V-Reversal for defense.
  • His low stamina makes movement and poking mistakes costly.
  • Notwithstanding his jumping movement abilities, his jump is floaty and predictable.
  • Extended limbs are vulnerable, with large hurtboxes.
  • It requires a special kind of player to excel at his reactive, space-oriented play.

Dhalsim returns in Street Fighter V with the stretching limbs that have been his hallmark since SFII. He’s refreshed in some interesting new ways, with Yoga Fire reimagined and a new air version of Yoga Flame added (Yoga Gale). With his Yoga Float V-Skill, air Yoga Teleport, Drill Kicks, and air pokes, he’s one of the masters of the skies in SFV, along with Rashid and Chun-Li. And thanks to his Yoga Burner V-Trigger, he’s the only character besides newcomer F.A.N.G. who has a damage-over-time mechanic.
