Ultimate Psycho Crusher: M. Bison’s Psycho Power-driven flying attack has been amplified to its maximum potential, and it now serves as his Critical Art. M. Bison explodes with Psycho Power all around him, and anyone caught in his dark sphere will be subject to his Ultimate Psycho Crusher. This is M. Bison’s only instantly invincible attack, taking him fully out of harm’s way for 20 frames. Like Dhalsim’s Yoga Sunburst, you can use this Critical Art both standing and jumping. Unless you’re using tons of EX specials (which, being fair, is a great M. Bison approach), you’ll find many opportunities to land this Critical Art.

There are many setups to confirm into Ultimate Psycho Crusher. Cancel into it from the first hit of Psycho Inferno or MK/HK Double Knee Press in combos. Use it as a juggle follow-up to Hell Attack. It makes for a bulletproof anti-air or reversal. However, it’s hard to recommend for reversals because of the cost of guessing wrong—you trade maybe getting hit if you block incorrectly for definitely getting hit while losing all EX Gauge if your guess is wrong. The move’s only real fault is its lateral range, so be careful trying to combo into it off of Psycho Blasts or LK Double Knee Press, where the Critical Art may whiff.

The most useful setup for aerial Ultimate Psycho Crusher is simply canceling into it after a hit from Devil Reverse. This is not as hard as it might initially sound. When you have full EX Gauge, just get used to pumping during possible air-to-air Devil Reverse hits (watch M. Bison’s proximity to the opponent during the flipping punch). If you see the foe light up with psycho energy off the hit, slap . This way, you can think of it as confirming with one button instead of the full motion. You can also cancel Head Press and Somersault Skull Diver hits into Ultimate Psycho Crusher, but this is much less practical on reaction, unless the whole situation cues your reflexes (like you realize you just started Head Press against a shoto starting up their Hadoken motion).
