Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Guide › Wumpa Island

Koala Kong

Koala Kong is the second boss on this island. This boss battle isn’t too tough. The key is to dodge and plan ahead. Koala Kong uses his great strength to throw large rocks at you. Wait until the rock is in the air, then jump to the side to avoid being hit.

TNT boxes drop near you and start counting down. They usually land away from you, in a location you may jump toward to avoid getting hit by a rock, so watch the countdown as you dodge. When a TNT box drops, it’s usually a good idea to move near it so that, when Koala Kong throws a rock, you jump away from both the rock and the explosives.

After throwing a few rocks, Koala Kong picks up a large boulder and throws it at you. Dodge it. When it lands, move next to it and perform a spin attack to launch it back at Koala Kong. Make sure there aren’t any mine carts in front of him, or they take the damage instead of the boss. Each hit with a boulder deals one damage to Koala Kong.

Four hits are required to defeat the boss. If you die, his health resets to its maximum. After Koala Kong takes two damage, two TNT boxes now drop instead of one. Their countdowns are about a second apart, so time your jumps to avoid the one about to blow up.

Keep sending those boulders back at Koala Kong. Once you land four hits on him without dying, he’s defeated, you complete Wumpa Island, and you’re ready to progress to the third and final island.
