Meet the first of three bosses on Cortex Island. Learning his timing is key. At the start, take cover behind one of the chairs on either side—they’re indestructible. Pinstripe fires his Tommy gun at you, but you’re safe behind the chairs; stay there as long as you need. If you get hit, any damage against Pinstripe is erased and you restart the fight.
Pinstripe begins on top of the desk. He then jumps down and fires from its left side. As he traverses the room to the right, rush out and hit him with a spin attack, then quickly retreat behind a chair. He fires from the right before returning to the left. This is your chance to get in a second hit. Quickly hide behind a chair. Land the third hit using the same tactic.
When half of his health is gone, Pinstripe changes strategy. He no longer runs out in front of the table where he can be hit. Instead, he jumps onto the table as he traverses the room. After he fires on the left side, his gun jams. Quickly move in and strike. The gun jams again after he fires on the right side. Take advantage here too for a fifth hit. Remember to always return to cover before Pinstripe resumes shooting.
At this point, Pinstripe’s health is down to one. He continues traversing the room by jumping on the desk. However, this time his gun only jams while he stands on the desk. This is your chance. Run forward, jump, and perform a spin attack to defeat this boss and advance to the next level.
