This level takes place in the dark. A firefly follows you around to provide light. If you stop, the firefly flies on ahead and leaves you. New fireflies can be found near boxes and replace those that have used up their light. Jump across a gap near the start and clear away a mouse. Follow the path, jumping over gaps and eliminating mice. When you come to a lizard, slide into it while it’s facing you to defeat it.
After smashing a wall of boxes, defeat a mouse and jump over a nitro wall. Keep going to reach the checkpoint. Time your movements to avoid the spiky robots that hover back and forth across the trail. Continue to the checkpoint and the platform that carries you to the bonus stage.
Get moving down the trail again. Slide into a couple of lizards along the way. Belly Flop on several reinforced boxes. The firefly flies away when its light goes out. Destroy the reinforced boxes before grabbing another firefly.
Jump across several gaps until you come to a lizard. It’s in your way, so slide into it. Jump on a mouse, then collect some extra lives from crates before hitting the green switch to destroy all of the nitro boxes. Continue on into the portal room to pick up the Clear Gem you’ve hopefully earned, then get back to the warp room.

This isn’t a tough time trial, relatively speaking. You can literally run through and never stop. There are lots of gaps to jump; either avoid or get rid of any lizards and mice in your way. The spiky robots are one of the tougher threats; since they fly back and forth across the path, dodge to one side while still in motion. There are some time boxes throughout the level and four boxes right before you reach the portal room door. Get them all, then rush for the portal.
