Once you collect the five crystals from the levels of the Alpine Warp Room, go challenge Dr. Nitrus Gin to a fight. Be prepared. The doctor comes with his own mech to take you on. Luckily, you have more than a spin attack for taking on a mech—Wumpa fruit!
The mech opens its laser arms in preparation to fire at you. Throw fruit at the yellow parts to damage them. When it attacks, a laser beam moves across, zigzagging up and down. If you try to jump it, you’ll be killed, so slide underneath and continue throwing fruit until you destroy both arms. Dr. N. Gin has now lost two health.
The doctor changes tactics. The rocket packs on the mech’s shoulders open up and fire rockets. Throw fruit at the exposed yellow parts. Red targeting circles appear on the platform where the rockets will hit. Retreat from them to stay safe.
After you destroy one rocket pack, the rockets fly at you from the sides—jump over them. Keep throwing fruit to destroy the second rocket pack. Four health gone, one more to go.
Dr. N. Gin brings out the big gun for the finale. Throw fruit at the yellow areas. When the beam starts to fire, jump to one of the side platforms—the middle platform gets vaporized. The mech continues attacking platforms. Note that when two are destroyed, another pops up, so you always have two. Keep throwing fruit until you eliminate the last bit of health to win the battle. This earn you the “Mech Wrecked” award. You also unlock the portal that takes you to the High-Tech Warp Room.
