Rewards: Clear Gem—destroy all 125 boxes (Red Gem required to get all of them).

This level takes place in the snow, so expect icy areas where Crash can slip. Since you need the Red Gem to get all of the boxes, consider first completing Air Crash, the second level in this warp room, since you earn the Red Gem there. This can save you from having to play through Snow Biz a second time.

Right from the start, you deal with ice. Skate and jump across a gap, then avoid a seal and a penguin as you slide into a stack of boxes. Use an arrow box to get up the side of a cliff, then jump across a gap to four boxes. Jump on the wooden box first for some fruit, then jump on one of TNT boxes to set it off. Quickly jump across the next gap to get away before the explosion.

Continue up a slope, dodging sliding penguins, then cross an icy pod with seals. Jump over a gap, then reach a platform that carries you up to the next area and a checkpoint. You now face hedgehogs. Don’t jump on them or use a spin attack; their spines hurt. Jump over them and keep going. Break the boxes and grab the mask.

If you don’t have the Red Gem, head past the red platform and up a slippery slope. When you jump across the next gap, time it so you don’t get hit by a falling log. Slide down an icy slope, jumping up to clear out boxes on your way down.

Red Gem Path

Shortly after you arrive at the side-scrolling part of the level, a red platform is activated if you’ve already collected the Red Gem. Ride it up to a higher area, use the checkpoint, and start busting boxes. Get all the fruit you can, then jump over a nitro box. Jump over two hedgehogs, and when you come to a bridge of reinforced boxes, do a Belly Flop to destroy them all. Jump on the arrow box below them and hit a TNT box floating up high. A switch above it makes new iron boxes appear after the explosion. Continue to the right and use those iron boxes to get onto arrow boxes. Jump up onto the wooden boxes above them.

Keep going right, avoiding threats while breaking the rest of the boxes. When you reach bridges of wooden planks, cross them quickly to avoid falling. Watch for falling icicles. When you come to a hedgehog paired with a nitro box, wait until the creature puts down its spines, then slide into it to defeat it. Hit the switch to detonate all the nitro boxes, then use the stone platform to return to the level.

Now you need to move through an area of seals, icicles, and dropping doors and logs. From behind some rocks that block your view, jump up to break the boxes there that are hard to see. When you spot a shaft with a “?” next to it, drop down to the bonus stage.

Slide down an icy slope, avoiding seals, then drop down a shaft to a lower area and a checkpoint. Move forward and smash some boxes. This area features stones that roll back and forth across your path. The icy pond between a couple of these stones complicates matters. Keep going, use an arrow box to get a box of fruit, then grab the crystal for this level.

After jumping over a gap, move up a slope and avoid penguins sliding down toward you. Get past two more rolling stones and a gap with ice on either side to reach the portal room.

This level has some challenges for time trials. You don’t have time to wait for hedgehogs and penguins to get out of your way. Be ready to jump over them. Prepare to use your spin attack when seals are in your path, especially when you’re sliding down an icy slope. If you keep moving, you can get past icicles before they fall, and pass by falling logs or doors before they drop. Skip any secret or bonus stages and hit all the time boxes. If you miss one, though, keep going. It often takes longer to backtrack to it than the time you save by using its ability.
