Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Guide › N-Sanity Island

Rolling Stones

Rewards: Clear Gem—smash all 87 boxes (Blue Gem required for six of the boxes).

Near the start is a wall of 12 boxes. Perform a spin attack to knock down some so you can get up to jump on top of them. Be careful not to spin-attack the Wumpa fruit, or you’ll destroy them rather than collect them. The first Tawna icon is located just after you pass the first rolling stone. Retrieve the mask nearby as well.

There are several spots where two stones roll back and forth along the same track. Time your jumps across without getting hit. Use the arrow box here to get the Wumpa fruit in the floating box. Keep jumping, and once the Wumpa fruit are gone, you get the first Nitrus Brio icon. Continue on to the checkpoint.

Past the checkpoint, you find an Aku Aku box. However, it’s sandwiched between two explosive TNT boxes. Jump up and perform a spin attack while next to the stack of boxes to get the mask. Then move away before the TNT boxes explode.

As you approach this cluster of nine boxes, you must jump across a rolling stone track. Jump onto the track and then across the chasm on the other side. If you’re rushing, you may not see the chasm until it’s too late and you fall into it. To get the goods inside the brown boxes, jump on them while avoiding the TNT boxes. By doing this, you get the second Nitrus Brio icon as well as an extra life. Keep going to the next checkpoint.

Now you must cross chasms by jumping across pillars. Some of these pillars move, so aim your jumps carefully and watch for chasms located directly after rolling stone tracks. You find a box with the second Tawna icon as you progress through this area. Keep going to find the third Tawna icon near the Tawna portal. Jump onto the portal to enter the bonus stage.

Continue past a bluish portal. You need a Blue Gem to activate it and reach a secret area.

Blue Gem Path

To get all of the boxes in this level, you need the Blue Gem. Earn it during the Toxic Waste level on the last island. Once you do, come back and find a platform shortly after the Tawna portal—it takes you down into a cave where six boxes are hidden away. Smash them, then ride the platform back up to finish the level.

Tawna Bonus Stage

There are 21 boxes in this bonus stage. Several are up in the air, so jump on top of them from one to the next to destroy them all. Be careful not to fall and exit the stage early. There’s only one extra life here, but you can get a lot of Wumpa fruit.

Eventually you come to a box near the Nitrus Brio portal. Smash the crate to get the third icon and enter a second bonus stage in this level.

Nitrus Brio Bonus Stage

While the Tawna stages aren’t too difficult, this one is tough and takes some careful timing and fine coordination. There are a lot of explosive TNT boxes here. To get past the first five, jump across to the first, jump up onto the second, drop to the third, jump up to the fourth, then drop to the fifth. Quickly jump across to the iron boxes to avoid being blown up, since jumping on these boxes starts the countdown. Pick up three extra lives, then jump across to the next area where there are more TNT boxes. Jump and spin-attack the brown box on top of the first TNT box, then jump back to the platform on the left to avoid the explosions. Once the dust clears, jump to the right again. Finally, jump across three boxes, smashing each one in turn to net three more extra lives. If you do it right, you leave here with six extra lives total! However, reaching the end alive may take several attempts.

Crash must now traverse a series of rolling stones and pillars. Continue to the last portal where you exit the level.

Time Trial

Time Requirements

Sapphire: 1:04:00

Gold: 0:50:35

Platinum: 0:46:49

This is a straightforward run through the level. The key is to hit all of the yellow time boxes to stop the clock, and pick up all three masks. Once you’re invulnerable, you can run right through without worrying about being hit. You still need to make all the jumps, though.
