Crash must face the first boss in battle. Papu Papu is slow but powerful. He has two attacks. First, he raises his staff and tries to smash you with it. When you see him getting ready to hit you, move to one side or the other to avoid the blow.
Then he spins around and tries to hit you with the staff. Be ready to jump over the staff as it comes around. Papu Papu usually makes three rotations and then tries to hit you wherever you stand.
To defeat Papu Papu, you must land five hits. Spin attacks don’t hurt him, so jump on him. If you move quickly, you can get in a hit before he takes his first swing at you.
Whenever you’re hit and lose a life, the damage you’ve dealt Papu Papu is reset, and you must start over. You can also hit him while he’s spinning. When you jump to avoid the staff, land on top of the boss to get in another hit. After you land five hits, Papu Papu is defeated and you earn the “Papu Popped” award.
