This next event in El Rey is a drift trial. Instead of drifting around street corners, you will be going around tight corners up in the hills. The traffic is light, so you can really focus on your drifts. Both Amy and Manu run this event with you.
Objective: Earn at least 20,000 Drift Score to win.
The turns at the start of this event are actually some of the toughest. There are two wide turns to the right. Don’t worry about drifting around them. Instead, try to stay in control and maintain your speed so you can score around the tighter left turns that follow. Always look a couple of turns ahead and decide which will get you a better score. The tighter the turn, the more likely you can drift 180 degrees around it.
In this section, there are three hairpin turns with enough space between them to pick up speed. Enter on the inside and stay in tight as you drift around them so your rear bumper does not drag along the guardrail. When you reach the intersection, don’t try to drift. Just take the turn as straight as you can.
Once on the main road, just take the turn normally and then drift at the intersection as you make a right turn. Pick up speed again as you head to the next set of turns.
This section can be tricky. You have a turn to the right, followed by a tighter and longer one to the left. The transition between these two is tough, but you score if you can chain them. After a short straight stretch, you have a turn to the left immediately followed by a wider turn to the right. Get some score on the first and then maintain control on the second.
As you head toward the finish line, there’s one last turn that can get you some drift score. It’s only 90 degrees to the right and not too tight, so pick up speed along the straight road leading up to it, then drift around it quickly with style. Continue to the finish line to end the event.
