This is a long sprint race with five other racers. Although much of the action takes place on freeways, there are also some sections on city streets.
Objective: Race to the finish line in a point to point sprint race. First one there wins.
The race starts out on roads in Apollo Heights as you head toward the freeway. Watch out for a turn to the right before you reach the on-ramp, and then a tight turn when you get there. It’s better to slow down and maintain control here. The pack of racers is still pretty tighter, so watch out for the other cars, as well.
Accelerate all the way along this section of freeway for over a mile. There’s a turn that you might want to watch upon exiting the tunnel, but a release of the throttle is usually enough to maintain control as you enter it. Then punch it again as you exit.
As you take the off-ramp that leads to the other freeway, coast along and slow down a bit more as you take a tight turn to the right. Then accelerate again as you exit and merge onto the freeway. Hit your top speed and maintain it for this one and a half mile stretch. The few turns do not require you to slow down at all. Just watch for traffic when traveling at such high speeds.
The off-ramp here is tight and consists of a 360-degree turn to the right. Slow down; it doesn’t seem bad at first, but it gets tighter as you go. Maintain control here and then be ready to accelerate again as you exit. After a short distance, get ready for a 90-degree turn to the right. Powerslide through this and keep going.
This section can be taken at high speed. Though not a freeway, the road is wide. There’s a turn to the right halfway through, but you don’t really need to slow down here. Watch for traffic—and cops; there’s often one waiting to ruin a racer’s night. Since you’re already moving at high speed, keep going and you can usually outrun them before you have to slow down.
The road ends at a T-intersection where you must turn left. Slow down a bit, then powerslide around this right-angle turn. Be careful not to crash here or it can cost you first place. As soon as you come around this turn, hit the gas. There are some turns to the left as you get closer to the finish line. Watch these turns and avoid going too far to the outside or you may hit obstacles and crash. Keep close to the center to avoid oncoming traffic on the inside and speed all the way to the end.
