This is a time attack around a short course in the middle of Franklin Terrace. There are several tight turns and five other racers in very fast cars. Top speed is not important here. Instead, you need fast acceleration and good handling around corners. You have three minutes to set the time for the fastest lap.
Objective: Set the best lap time on a short circuit against the clock. Drive as many laps as you can in the time limit. Fastest lap time wins.
The first turn is a sharp one to the left. With a fast car, you can do this at 100mph just from the start. Get around it, then accelerate around a gentle turn to the right.
At the intersection, take a sharp right. Powerslide around it to stay close to the inside, then accelerate.
The next turn comes up quickly and is another right at an intersection. Powerslide around this one, as well.
This is the speed section. You have gentle turns and can get up to around 150mph here—which is the target speed if you hope to be competitive.
While this turn does not look bad on the map, you are travelling at 150mph or faster. Let up on the gas as you enter, then accelerate out of it. There’s a second turn to the right, so do the same thing to get around it.
The final turn is to the right at the intersection. Powerslide around this and continue the course again. After the first lap, you can expect police to get involved. They won’t catch you, but can get in the way. Remember, you need to have just one lap that’s the fastest. Learn from your first few laps, then really go after it.
