Spike has Magnus’ run and wants to hold a time trial to beat Magnus’ time. This is a fast race up the Crescent Mountains and back down. You have already driven a significant stretch of this route in previous events.
Objective: Beat Magnus’ time trial record of 3:50 to win.
This is a fast event, so you must speed through a lot of turns in order to beat Magnus. Try to cover the first part along the city streets as quickly as possible. You’ll need those extra seconds you can shave off here later on. Watch that mini-map so you’re ready for the 90-degree turn to the right.
Take it fast and then head up the hills into some alternating turns. Powerslide through the first two tight turns, then drive with control through the wider bend.
Make a tight turn to the left at the intersection. This one’s easy to overshoot, so watch your mini-map. Slow down and powerslide around the turn, then accelerate into the tunnel. When you reach the end, be ready to take a right and then left turn combination. This is followed by another right and left combo.
Continue your climb up the mountain. Get through the wide turn to the left while maintaining control. Don’t accelerate too soon on this turn since it gets a bit tighter toward the end. Then head through the S-curve. Once you’re past it, stay to the right at the intersection and enjoy the relatively straight speed strip you can take the rest of the way across the front of the dam.
After crossing to the other side of the dam, be ready to make a hairpin turn to the right. Do it in front of the traffic circle to save time. Then accelerate toward a second hairpin turn—this time to the left.
The event now takes you around the lake. This long turn to the right has some areas where it gets a bit tighter, so try to stay on the inside as often as possible to swing wider. At the end of the long turn, take a tight turn to the left and then continue through a couple more turns that require you to slow down.
Once you get around that last turn to the right, floor it all the way to the finish line! The few wide turns you hit can be taken at speed, so all you really need to watch for is traffic going in both directions. Rush past the finish line within the time limit and make a name for yourself.
