This is another sprint race with a lot of freeway and a bit of city streets at the end. Make sure your car is tuned for gripping the road and not drifting. Starting out in El Rey, you are racing all the way into the center of Burnwood. It’s just Amy and you this time.
Objective: Race to the finish line. The first one across is the winner.
You start out already on the freeway for this sprint race, so hit the gas and get ’er up to speed. While it is fairly straight, there’s a turn to the left that can take you by surprise here. As you approach, stay to the left—yes in the wrong lane of traffic. As you go through the turn, drive to the right side of the road to straighten out your line a bit. This lets you maintain speed and avoid having to steer too much. Release the accelerator before you enter this turn so you have a bit more control.
The freeway lanes divide here and you want to stay on the left side. Watch for on-coming traffic as you go through the tunnels. If necessary, let up on the gas to help you take these turns here.
Now it’s time for the speed run all the way into Burnwood. Most of the run is on the left side against traffic. However, as you enter Burnwood, you switch over to the right side. Be careful not to hit the center dividers as you do this.
The freeway veers wide in Burnwood. You are on the inside since you changed lanes. However, after the turn, look to get over to the left side again—you need to be over there to exit.
You must use the on-ramp to get off the freeway, so watch out again for oncoming traffic. Slow down as you approach the end of the on-ramp. You have a series of turns that go left, right, and then left again. If you lose control on the first one, it’s hard to regain it. Plus, there are dividers here that are easy to run into if you’re going too fast. It’s best to slow down here and speed up later.
As soon as you get onto the city streets, punch it. There’s a sharp turn to the left, but the streets are wide and you can powerslide around it if necessary. Once you’re around it, go all out all the way to the finish line.
