There are four different types of Collectibles scattered throughout Ventura Bay. The game keeps track of the ones you find. These include types of cars you have beaten in spontaneous races, as well as vistas, donut spots, and “free” parts.
Car Challenges
There are 51 different types of cars driven by other racers. As you drive around Ventura Bay, these vehicles appear as yellow icons on your mini-map. A name appears over the car as you drive by. If you’re not currently involved in an event, you can challenge them to a race. They can also challenge you. Once you win that spontaneous event, that type of car is added to your collection of cars you have beaten. Drive around town looking for the cars you need to add to your list.
Vistas
Ventura Bay has several sights for you to see. There are also spots that provide a scenic view. These are called vistas and there are 30 of them scattered around the city. Each district has five different vistas for you to find. They appear as a camera shaped icon. Stop at each one and take a snapshot to add it to your collection.
Donut Spots
There’s nothing like leaving a donut in the middle of the road or a parking lot. There are 30 different spots around Ventura Bay where you can leave your mark and add to this list. These spots are marked with an icon of arrows in a circle. When you enter one of these areas, flares ignite that indicate the boundaries and let you know it’s time to leave some rubber.
Doing a donut is easy if you know how. First you need a car with rear wheel drive. If you’re driving one with front wheel drive, don’t even try—you can’t do it. It’s also difficult to do if your car has a lot of horsepower or is tuned for grip. A car you use for drifting is also ideal for donuts. Now get in the middle of the area and turn your wheels all the way in one direction, then hit the gas. You may need to tap the brakes to get the spin started. After a couple of revolutions, you can add that spot to your list.
“Free” Parts
Parts for your car can get quite expensive. Luckily for you, there are 12 trucks scattered around Ventura Bay with parts in the back—unattended and just waiting for you to pick them up! Look for car icons as you drive around. They indicate a spot where these trucks are parked. To get the parts, just drive up next to one of the trucks and add it to your collection. When you return to the garage, check the Parts Inbox. You can then claim the parts or sell them for cash.
