Need For Speed eGuide Walkthrough Speed

Talk the Torque

Spike has set up a sprint race from Royal Park through South Port and all the way to Franklin Terrace. Almost all of this is high speed freeway driving. In a sprint race, you are just getting from one point to another before anyone else.

Objective: Race to the finish line in a point to point sprint race. First one across the finish line wins.

This race begins with you entering the freeway, so hit the gas right at the start. You enter the tunnel with a turn to the right. However, the road is wide and traffic is divided, so you really just need to watch out for the other six racers and avoid hitting them when you pass.

As the freeway takes you into South Port, get ready for a turn to the left. It’s shortly after crossing the bridge, following a long straightaway. As you enter the turn, watch for traffic entering the freeway from an on-ramp. Stay to the left on the inside of the turn as much as you can. The next turn to the right is wider and easier to navigate, so don’t even think about slowing down.

There are two more turns before you leave South Port. First to the right and then to the left, these turns are wide and don’t require any slowing. However, the other drivers like to try to pass here, so avoid collisions that will cost you some speed.

Right after that last turn in South Port, go all out. You have a straight run across the bridge into Franklin Terrace. This is where those horses under the hood come in handy. Since you can probably hit 150 mph or faster here, be careful of traffic. Even though it’s going the same direction as you, you’re passing these cars at 80 mph or faster, so it’s like they’re standing still. Be especially careful in spots where there might be two vehicles together—thread your way between or around them.

Once you cross the bridge, hopefully in the lead, you go through a tunnel. After exiting it, get ready to take the off-ramp to the right. It has two narrow 180-degree turns to the right, followed by a wider turn to the left. Slow down before entering the first two turns or you’ll slam into the guard rail. Accelerate out of each and that last turn can be taken at speed. Then it’s just a sprint to the finish line. How well you manage this off-ramp can make or break the race.
