This time trial set up by Magnus Walker is not on the freeways at all. Instead, it takes place on the narrow, hilly roads between El Rey and Franklin Terrace.
Objective: Beat Magnus’ new time trial record of 2:47.
As you start this race, pick up as much speed as you can before you hit the first turn to the left. This can be taken at speed and you can even powerslide if necessary. It leads into a left turn followed by a right turn. Neither is too tight and since you have not had much space to speed up a lot, you should be able to handle them with little more than releasing the throttle a bit as you enter to maintain control.
After exiting the last turn, hit the gas and race across the bridge. Keep going and don’t let up on the throttle until you get near the turn to the left. Powerslide through this one and then pick up speed again. Continue across the overpass above the freeway and drive fast until you reach the next set of turns.
This series of four turns forces you to slow down. Do this for the first turn to the left. While you can take it faster, you won’t be in a good position for the next turn to the right. You can probably powerslide through this tight turn. Pick up some speed before you get to another right turn, followed by one to the left.
Accelerate as you approach the large sculpture in the middle of the road. Pass it on the left side, then be ready for a turn to the right. It’s not bad, but that veer to the left of the sculpture makes this a bit tighter than it might look on the mini-map, so slow down accordingly.
Continue around a long turn to the left with a shorter turn to the right at the end. You can take these fairly fast, but be ready to tap the brakes to slow down and maintain control.
You now have a wide turn to the right around some facilities. The start and end of this turn are the sharpest parts. Once you get past them, there’s a turn to the left. Since you needed to slow down a bit before, it’s not hard to take. Pick up speed as you head into the next turn to the left. Let off the gas for a bit before entering it, then accelerate through it.
You now come to a short straight section that’s ideal for picking up speed. However, don’t try to take the turn to the left without slowing down or you’ll drive right into the guard rail. It’s better to use a little caution at the end or you can mess up your entire run with a crash or spinout. Since you slowed down already, you can accelerate through the final turn to the right and on to the finish line.
