Amy likes to keep you on your toes. For the next event, she has you in a drift contest out in El Rey. The course is short and you win by scoring the most drift points within two and a half minutes. You don’t need to get out in front of the other racers to win.
In fact, you might want to stay back so you’re not running into them—or they into you—as you are drifting around the turns. It’s a good idea to visit the garage and tune your ride for drifting before taking on this event.
Objective: Drift along the route using extreme angles and high drift speeds to score big. Highest score wins.
You make several laps around this course, so use the first lap to get a feel for it. This first turn can come at you fast. Try to get some points on your first time around, but you don’t have a lot of time to get up to speed. Later on, you can get more speed and hit it faster. Cut this one a bit closer to the inside of the turn so you can avoid hitting objects on the outside.
This is one of the two corners where you can amass a fair amount of points. Hit it fast and, as you turn, tap the hand brake to ensure you start a good slide. The road here is slightly wider and you can really swing your rear around.
This part of the course actually goes past the roadway on the mini-map and off onto the dock area. Again, this has a wide area for drifting around and plenty of room for acceleration. Don’t cut this one too close to the inside or you may have trouble approaching the next turn.
This last turn looks tight, but you actually have some space. If you wait to drift until the spot where it shows you on the mini-map, you will more than likely slam into the wall. Instead, as soon as you get clear of the metal fencing on your right, start drifting into the turn. This gives your rear end room to slide and score you some points. Keep going around and avoid crashing or you score no points for that drift.
