One of Mangus’ runs is a time trial that takes you from one side of town to the other. While it has some freeway driving, it also leads you through city streets. Make sure your car is set to grip the road since you don’t want to be sliding around. Also be sure to upgrade your car to make it faster. Spike will be running this trial with you. However, you have to beat the clock, not him, to impress Magnus Walker.
Objective: Beat Magnus’ new time trial record of3:16.
You start out on city streets and need to get onto the freeway. There’s a sharp, 90-degree turn to the left that you can race through, but be careful to take it wide to avoid hitting the center divider. Then follow the route up the off-ramp into oncoming traffic.
Continue to drive against traffic as you go around the turn to the left to get onto the freeway that will take you to South Port. Then, as soon as you can, get into the lanes on the right so you are driving with traffic.
This section is a speed run for about a mile and a half. Go through the tunnel and across the bridge into South Port. Traffic and center dividers are your main threat, so watch for them. You need to drive as fast as you can here, avoiding time-killing crashes.
Take the first off-ramp as you enter South Port. It’s a 270-degree turn to the right. Slow down to maintain control. Continue around another right turn, and then hustle your way through the center of South Port. It’s pretty much a straight shot, so hit the gas and go. Don’t slow down until you reach the off-ramp. This consists of a right turn, a 180-degree turn to the left, and then a right turn onto the freeway. Once again, you’re going against traffic to get on the freeway.
This is the second freeway section of the run, so go as fast as you can. If a turn gets a bit too much, just let up on the gas to get enough traction to make the turn.
After exiting the tunnel, get to the right and take the off-ramp. Slow down and prepare for a 90-degree turn to the left as soon as you get on the main street. After the turn, floor it all the way to the finish line. As long as you drive clean and keep your velocity high, you should be able to complete this time trial with plenty of time to spare.
