The Outlaw storyline is a bit less direct than the others. Outlaws like to hide in the shadows and watch and wait. You must first do something to catch their attention. Then they will begin contacting you to see if you’re up for their challenges.
Getting the Attention of the Outlaw
In order to get the attention of the Outlaw, you must have some dealings with the cops. Sometimes during an event, you might be chased by the police. They also go after you around the city if you’re driving recklessly or speeding. So start building up an Outlaw Rep.
Escape a Chase with at least $1000 in fines
The first challenge is hidden. In fact, you won’t even know about it until after you complete it. The Outlaw is waiting for you to rack up a $1000 fine during a chase and then escape. Before going for this one, upgrade your car so you have a chance of escaping. You don’t want to rack up a big fine and then get caught. Once a cop is chasing you, get that fine up to $1000 by running into a police car, damaging property, and refusing to pull over. As soon as it hits that magic number, it’s time to get away.
There are two main ways to escape. If you have a fast car, you can simply outrun the cops. Get onto a main road that’s fairly straight and gun it. Or better yet, get onto a freeway. Once you get far enough ahead of the cop, you go into cooldown mode. Now you just need to stay out of sight of the cops while doing anything illegal until the cooldown timer hits zero. One tactic that’s pretty bold is to pull off to the side of the road or down a side road, then just turn off the car and wait it out.
The other way to escape is to lose your pursuer. Turn down side streets and try to shake the cops by forcing them to lose sight of your car. Let a cop get up right next to you, then take a quick turn down a street away from them at the last minute. The cop must stop or turn around, and that’s your chance to turn onto a couple more streets and shake the heat.
Escape a 2-Minute Chase
Once you escape the $1000 fine, you get a text message on your phone. It’s a new challenge. Now you need to make sure the chase lasts at least two minutes before escaping. Keep the cops on your tail for this long before bugging out.
Escape a Chase with at least $2500 in fines
This is another challenge where you must bait the cops and ensure they follow you until you rack up a bigger fine. If you start to go into cooldown, turn around and find the cop again or you’ll have to start the timer over again.
Get Through two Roadblocks in a Single Chase and Escape
This can be a tough challenge. The police only set up roadblocks for serious offenders. Therefore, you need to bait them for several minutes and build up a big fine. You must also stay in the same area so they set up barricades in the vacinity. There are two types of roadblocks: wooden and concrete.
You can easily smash through wooden barriers. They are often by themselves with no police presence. Drive through two of these to complete the challenge, then get out of the area to escape.
Then there are concrete barriers. These usually have police vehicles behind them. Don’t try to race through this variety or you’ll crash and might even get busted. Instead, turn away from them and keep going.
