Game of Thrones eGuide Walkthrough Side Quests

The Black Bloodhound

Talk To Addam Flowers If You Want To Take Part In The Inquiry To Identify The Corrupt Brothers.

Objective Point A

Speak with Addam Flowers on the top floor of the Common Hall after you gain the “Stray Dog” primary quest and before you leave for Mole’s Town. Flowers is a strange character whose paranoia makes him the ideal brother to monitor potential corruption in the ranks. If you agree to the side quest, Flowers entrusts you to question five brothers who are suspected of collaborating with the duplicitous Ser Godric: Grance, Jonos, Bartram, Arthur, and Trebor (all in the Common Hall).

Investigate The Men Who Were With Godric. Addam Flowers Has Gathered Them All In The Common Hall.

Objective Point B

See Arthur and Trebor first on the first floor. Trebor has no self-control, so if you immediately tease him, he lets slip what they’ve been up to. They aren’t traitors, though they have committed murder. They discovered that another brother, Domeric, had sold his services to Godric’s men, and when they confronted Domeric, a fight broke out. They killed Domeric and then hid the body during all the recent commotion. You can either agree to forget the incident because they were protecting the Night’s Watch or report them to the Lord Commander.

Objective Point C

Bartram claims that he’s being set up by the crazy Flowers again. He says he’s never spoken to Godric and instead gives you dirt on Jonos, who he spotted uncharacteristically giving credit to several brothers. However, after you speak with Grance and return to Bartram, he admits to speaking with Godric atop the Wall. You’ve caught Bartram in a lie but you can’t prove that he is a traitor. Take the dog and pick up Bartram’s scent. Follow the scent to one of the sworn brother who guards the doors during the investigation. The guard will move toward some stuff and start fetching in a bag. Call Mors with the dog and you’ll discover that the guard, Gwayne, is Bartram’s accomplice. They were planning on deserting with Godric’s dirty money. If you try to confront him you will be ending up fighting against him. You can now return to Bartram and confront him about his treachery. You can either decide to fight and kill him or let Mormont decides his fate.

It’s best to let Flowers decide what to do with him or else you’ll end up battling Bartram when you catch up with Jared in the Gift during the “Stray Dog” quest.

Objective Point D

Next, seek out Jonos on the ground floor. Since Bartram has already filled you in on some of Jonos’s suspicious activities, you can immediately confront him on it. Jonos is a schemer, and he is mixed up in all sorts of gambling illegalities in and around Castle Black, but he’s also not a traitor. If you let him go and don’t report his infractions, Jonos gives you 25 silver stags.

Objective Point E

Finally, speak with Grance on the ground floor. If you intimidate him, he will report on Arthur and Trebor and Bartram. Return to Bartram and confront him on his lie about speaking with Ser Godric. If you return to Grance and rattle him some more, he eventually admits to talking about the Night’s Watch in casual conversation with Godric. The old man gave away valuable information, but unintentionally so; you have another dilemma: look the other way or report on Grance.

After talking thoroughly with all the suspects, return to Addam Flowers. You can choose to incriminate any of the brothers, though Bartram is the only one guilty of treason.
