Rewards are more than coins in a chest; accolades also comes in the form of your achievements. You gain titles from completing tons of things, such as finishing a chapter or finding all the corrupt brothers of the NIght’s Watch. There are more than 50 achievements that reward you for completing story-related, secondary objectives, secondary quests, and game-related deeds.
To gain achievements for the story-related events, you simply have to complete the associated game chapter. For example, when you complete chapter 1, you receive the achievement “Winter is Coming,” and when you complete chapter 12, you receive the achievement “As High as Honor.” You also gain achievements for finishing Alester’s and Mors’ stories.
Secondary objectives are a bit trickier to achieve. During certain situations in chapters, if you perform a particular action, you can earn a special achievement. For example, in chapter 1, you can earn the “Disciplinarian” title if you choose the dialogue option “I’ll show them who’s in charge here” during the recruit training and then win the first two fights. In chapter 2, if you protect the nobility during the riots you earn one title (“Know Your Place”) and if you protect the people during the riots you earn a separate title (“Man of the People”).
There are only five secondary quest achievements. By completing tasks such as sending 10 recruits to the Wall with Mors (“Endless Watch”), finding all the statues of the Seven (“Devout Follower”), and emerging triumphant in the final arena combat in the sewers beneath King’s Landing (“The Greatest”) you can earn some of the achievements for side quests.
You’ll have a lot of fun tracking down all the gameplay-related achievements. You can use Mors’ dog to sniff out five secret objects for “Fetch!” or discover 10 secret items with Alester’s special R’hllor powers for “R’hllor Sees All.” Once you earn one golden dragon you gain “Golden Touch,” and if you kill 400 enemies you receive the title “Accomplished Warrior.” The list of entertaining achievements goes on and on; there are so many that you’ll be able to replay Game of Thrones over and over, always discovering something new.
