If You’re Interested In The Gladiator Fights, Return To Ossifer In The Sewers Of King’s Landing.
Objective Point A
The best way to earn quick money in the game is through the arena battles offered by Ossifer. If you want to earn a pocketful of gold, return to the sewers before you leave King’s Landing in Chapter Before each contest, Ossifer will present you with the name you choose during your earlier battle in the arena (see “Chapter 8, Part 1” in the walkthrough). After the first match, you can bet on yourself or your opponent to win by seeing Rupert.
Each time you win a contest, your odds increase and you earn less money if you bet on yourself. If the odds are better on your opponent, you can bet on him to win and earn more money; however, make sure you can survive a loss (see the “Crowd Favor” sidebar). To learn more about your opponents, chat up the barkeep or speak with your opponents directly if they happen to be standing around the arena.
Crowd Favor
You can earn the crowd’s favor by buying them drinks at the bar or by listening to what they want after each contest (spare or kill your opponent). You lose crowd favor by ignoring what they want at the end of a contest. When the crowd loves you, they will ask your opponent to spare your life if you lose a match. When the crowd hates you, they will ask your opponent to kill you if you lose a match, and the game is over.
Go And Speak With The Guard Down Below When You’re Ready.
Objective Point B
Go downstairs and speak with the guard next to the arena gate when you’re ready to fight. You can also see the Arena Merchant if you need to stock up on some last-minute items before a match.
If You Wish To Continue Fighting, Return To Ossifer And Speak With Him.
Objective Point C
You can fight up to six times in the arena. Remember to bet with Rupert after the first match, and always maintain the crowd’s favor, even if it means shelling out the money for a round of drinks so that if you do lose, your opponent won’t kill you.
Your first contest is very difficult. You fight three brothers at once, and one of them has a poisoned weapon. Look for the Rubec brother with the sword; he’s the one with the poison, and he should be your primary threat when you direct your early damage. Use your stuns and immobilization abilities as often as possible, at least until you can get the odds down to two-on-one or one-on-one. If you can avoid the poison and keep all three from attacking you at once, you should have enough firepower to beat all three brothers.
After each match, speak with Ossifer for your reward and return to the arena when you want to begin the next battle. Your second contest is against Ser Symon. He’s a tough combatant who can heal throughout the fight. Save your interrupt abilities for his heals. If you can prevent him from healing, you should deal enough damage to bring him down. Listen to what the crowd says at the end of the battle to bolster your standing.
You battle Bayard next. His brother is the guard who lets you into the arena, and he offers you 20 silver stags if you spare his brother should you win. Bayard is a competent fighter but can’t really hold up to your special abilities and superior damage. Saving Bayard might be at odds with what the crowd wants, so you’ll have to weigh the 20 silver stags versus the crowd’s favor.
The fourth battle is against Alequo. He will attempt to stun you early and often. Stun him first or keep him out of melee range so that you can chip away at his health total. So long as he doesn’t prevent you from using your abilities, you should be able to overcome his quickness.
Now it’s time for the team battle. You get to choose from any of the men you bested in the arena and whose life you spared. The two of you will take on a deadly duo from the Iron Islands. Work with your teammate to keep your opponents off balance with stuns or knockdowns and concentrate your damage on one enemy until he’s dead. After that, it should be relatively easy to defeat the second enemy with two-on-one teamwork.
You Have Bested Lucifer, The Pit’s Most Celebrated Warrior! Return To Ossifer To Claim Your Reward. If You Have Asked Rupert To Place A Bet For You, Don’t Forget To Speak With Him As Well.
You have achieved as much glory as you can in the arena, and the news has reached the previous champion. Lucifer returns and challenges you to a duel to the death, with the stakes as high as ever. You stand to win the most money off this fight: bets are increased and Ossifer’s payout is great.
Lucifer is the fiercest combatant in the arena. He is relentless with his damage attacks, and it will take a long battle to drop his health total. If you have access to flammable oil or Wildfire, now is the time to use it. Wildfire in particular can erode Lucifer’s health down to a manageable number. It’s also crucial to stun him as much as possible to prevent counterattacks. If you can conserve enough energy to stun often and hit him with a potent attack in between stuns, you’ll eventually come out on top.
Collect your considerable fortune from Ossifer. With your victory over Lucifer, the arena is closed. There’s no more business here; the fans have gotten the most thrills possible out of the local talent, and Ossifer and Rupert are taking their show on the road. Be happy that you pocketed enough coin for several major upgrades and live to continue with your main quests.
