Defend The Western Gate From The Vanguard
Objective Point A
Valarr’s men have caught up with you and surround Westford Cottage. Endrew, one of Lord Harlton’s men who has infiltrated Valarr’s Bloodseekers, saves you from a few enemies and then hurries you inside the cottage to plan your defense. Once you establish a plan, you use the main door of the cottage and confront a pair of enemies at the front gates. When they fall, a larger group attacks the western gate.
Objective Point B
Follow Endrew and run to the western gate. It’s a race against time as the Bloodseekers attack the cottage and try to force open the door and kill Jeyne. As you engage each group, use abilities that will inflict maximum damage. However, don’t waste those abilities; you can’t afford to use an ability with a large energy requirement on an enemy that is almost dead already. With Endrew, tag team enemies at the western gate to rip them apart quickly and efficiently.
Find And Kill The Reinforcements
Objective Point C
Reinforcements will arrive after you defeat each main Bloodseeker group. Battle them the same way you did the main group: Attack with Endrew in unison and shred enemies quickly and efficiently. If you see any enemy pounding away at a cottage door, make him your priority. If a single enemy gets inside the cottage, you lose.
Defend The Rear Gate From The Vanguard
Objective Point D
Hustle to the rear gate. Intercept incoming enemies and fight by Endrew’s side. At this point in the battle, you may need to use a recover action to regain energy. Do so only if you have the current fight in hand and no one is at the cottage doors.
Find And Kill The Reinforcements
Objective Point E
More enemies converge on the cottage. You have no choice but to keep going; there is no rest until the end. If you’re low on health, drink a healing potion to bolster your effectiveness.
Defend The Main Gate From The Vanguard
Objective Point F
Circle around the cottage to the main gate again and take on the next enemy group. One Bloodseeker in heavy armor joins the fray; switch to blunt weapons to engage him. Remember to use Dog to immobilize (or traumatize) any enemies you can’t deal with immediately.
Find And Kill The Reinforcements
Objective Point G
One last set of reinforcements arrives. Dispatch them before heading off to take on the Bloodseeker leader, Deziel.
Kill Deziel, Valarr’s Lieutenant, Who Leads The Assault
Objective Point H
Deziel will hang back and puncture you with crossbow bolts if you let him. While Endrew deals with Deziel’s men, you should focus on the leader and stun or knock him down to minimize his attacks against your party. If you can’t reach him immediately and have to cut through a few Bloodseekers first, send Dog to immobilize and otherwise distract him. With enough damage and superior tactics, you and Endrew will survive the long battle and save Jeyne.
Go Find Ethan, Head Of Your Temporary Allies
Objective Point I
After the battle, you can pick up Deziel’s Rhoynish Pride crossbow and all the other loot lying on the corpses littering the cottage fields. Jeyne needs to see a maester to check on her baby, so speak with Ethan when you’re ready to leave Westford Cottage. Your new allies will guide you to a safe haven in the woods, before eventually taking you to Castlewood.
