Chapter 14: Light and Shadow - Red Keep

Red Keep

It’s Time For Vengeance. Fight Valarr And Kill Him.

Objective Point A

Head up the stairs and enter the throne room. From the balcony, watch Valarr enter and walk up the red carpet. After he taunts you from below, find the stairs down to the ground floor and initiate the final fight against Valarr.

Objective Point B

Open by stunning or knocking down Valarr with one of your abilities. Dog’s Throat Lunge is a great opener for Valarr, who doesn’t fight with a shield. Lay into him with as much damage as you can until he recovers.

When you bring Valarr down to half his health total, he cheats. Valarr backs away from you, cuts his hand, and summons forth a shadow with dark magic. You now have to fight Valarr and one shadow.

Whoever is armed with the Valyrian steel should now concentrate on the shadow. The special weapon deals 10 times normal damage against shadows, which offsets the shadow’s ability to regenerate health very quickly. A normal weapon against a shadow will do very little; the Valyrian steel can kill it with some effort. If you don’t have Valyrian steel, use an attack with mass damage like Wildfire, which can still kill it; however, it’s best to aim for Valarr and hope you can slay him before the enemies overwhelm you.

When you kill off the shadow, return to ganging up on Valarr to increase his wounds. When you drop him below one-quarter of his health, he summons a second shadow. It’s imperative that you’ve slain the first shadow by this point or they will start slaughtering you.

Even though you’ve stacked up the wounds on Valarr, he isn’t easy to kill. He regenerates health back up to full when the second shadow arrives. Repeat the same tactics as with the first shadow: the person with the Valyrian steel kills the shadow, then returns to team up on Valarr.

With the second shadow dissipated, combine all your attacks on Valarr and continue rotating with stuns and knockdowns. Eventually, all your attacks add up and you deliver the killing blow to Valarr.

Valarr stumbles back and lands on the Iron Throne. You finally put him out of his misery, but not before he spits out the secret Alester has dreaded since he met up with Mors: It was Valarr and Alester who murdered Mors’s wife and daughter.
