King’s Landing
Go To The Sarwyck Manse To Learn More About The Fate Of Your Brother, Gawen
Objective Point A
You arrive at King’s Landing looking for clues regarding your brother Gawen’s disappearance. The beggar Old Ren stands in the doorway directly in front of you. He tells you that there are rumors that your brother is back in town. You flip him a coin after the conversation, thinking it’s the last you’ll see of him, but it’s not.
Objective Point B
When you pass under the arch leading toward the market square, Old Ren appears again. He guides a group of thugs called the Reapers to you to collect a hefty reward. The Gold Cloaks, the city’s guards, have a reward out for the capture of Gawen Sarwyck, reputed kinslayer. The leader of the Reapers, Axe, believes he can get you to tell him where your brother is hiding out. You can try to bribe or talk your way out of a fight, or you can draw your weapon and take them on.
There are four of the Reapers: two in no armor, one in light armor, and Axe in medium armor. Stun or immobilize as many as possible as you pick away at the Reapers without armor first. As the odds even out, cut down the one in light armor and leave Axe for last. When he falls, the Gold Cloaks arrive; Axe escapes in the confusion, and you’re left to explain why a battle just erupted in the streets.
Objective Point C
Proceed to the market square. Visit each of the merchants and check out his wares: armor, weapons, and potion supplies. You don’t have much money yet, so mark what you’d like for the future and return the next time you have the coin and the minutes to spare.
Objective Point D
Continue toward the Sarwyck Manse. You’ll eventually see two green-garbed cutpurses waiting on either side of the street. It’s an ambush; as soon as you cross in front of them, two other cutpurses join them and they attack. Three wear no armor; one has light armor. Switch to cutting weapons and have at them. They can prove a challenge, but if you can stun or immobilize multiple foes so they can’t surround you, the odds improve and you can pick them off one by one with your better abilities.
Objective Point E
A crowd gathers outside Sarwyck Manse. Valarr and his men are searching for Gawen and drag all the Sarwyck Manse servants outside to question them. No one knows where Gawen is, but that doesn’t stop Valarr from brutalizing the servants.
You confront Valarr and he takes pleasure in torturing you about Gawen and the fact that the queen personally requested him to hunt down your brother. Valarr admits that Gawen could be considered the legitimate heir to the Riverspring throne, but once he’s lost his head, he won’t bother Valarr again. You threaten to take back Riverspring despite Valarr’s claims to the contrary. To spite your search, Valarr orders the Manse sealed until further notice. You’ll have to find a secret way in.
Find A Way Into The Sarwyck Manse To Begin Your Investigation
Objective Point F
Speak to Hubb in front of Sarwyck Manse and convince him to show you the secret way into your family home. Return to where you fought the green-garbed cutpurses and enter the red rose garden. Look to the right and you’ll spot a trapdoor that leads into the cellar of Sarwyck Manse.
