Go To Riverspring Castle To Attend Your Father’s Wake
Objective Point A
In Chapter 2, you’re introduced to Alester Sarwyck, eldest son of Lord Raynald Sarwyck. Alester has returned to his home after a 15-year absence at the request of his old maester Harwyn, who has asked Alester to attend his father’s funeral. As the ferryman, Victor, guides you into the city of Riverspring, you take on the role of Alester Sarwyck as he journeys back into the problems and power struggles of his family’s kingdom.
Victor drops you off at the docks. He tells you of the hard times that have befallen Riverspring since your disappearance 15 years ago. Ultimately, you need to find the castle gate, but you have some important stops along the way.
Objective Point B
Look for an animated speaker on the far side of the docks. The rabble-rouser Tyrek has the locals in an uproar about their unfair treatment, and he rallies for a bloody revolt. You can speak to them and try to calm Tyrek down, but he won’t listen to your appeals to decency. However, you’ll meet him later during the riots, so now you know who you’re dealing with.
Objective Point C
Continue walking toward the southwest part of the city. In the middle of the map, the Riverspring armor merchant will start up a conversation as you pass by. He explains the differences among the main weapon types: cutting (best against light armor), perforating (best against medium armor), and blunt (best against heavy weapons).
Objective Point D
The castle gates are in the map’s far southwest portion. When you arrive, you can’t get in; the city guard’s orders are to keep everyone out during the funeral. You ask for Maester Harwyn, but before the guards can summon him, Ryman Sarwyck, captain of the guard, arrives. Ryman immediately recognizes you, but he isn’t happy to see you. Ryman feels you abandoned your family and so you have no claim to paying respects.
When Ryman insults you, the dialogue choice pops up with, “He will let me pass. This is my home” or “I will not quarrel with him...” If you choose the first option, it will come to blows. Ryman will draw his weapon and you’ll battle until Maester Harwyn arrives and breaks up the fight. Neither can actually die in the fight; Harwyn won’t let it go that far. If you choose the second option, Ryman is still angry, but he’ll let you in without a fight.

Alester left Westeros 15 years ago to reinvent himself and found R’hllor, his one true god. The red priests who worship R’hllor are a rare sight in Westeros, though they have formed a dominant religion across the sea. In A Game of Thrones , we first hear about the red priests when we meet Daenerys and Viserys Targaryen in the Free Cities. As Daenerys gazes out her window, she hears the red priests singing as they light their night fires and perform their rituals.
