Reaching the promised land that is Oros starts a process of rebuilding the long lost tribe of Wenja. This involves finding fellow tribespeople, bringing them back to the village, and building new huts for them—a cave for yourself and seven huts for the specialists. As you progress through the game, capture locations, and complete quests; more Wenja join the village. The specialists offer special skills and gear, while the other villagers give you an XP boost.
Complete Tensay’s Beast Master mission to unlock the ability to build your village. Talk to Sayla and Tensay before constructing their huts. Next, stand in front of each stone marker to see the resource requirements and hold the Interact button to create the shelter. Their locations show up on the mini-map as an icon showing the specialist. XP, unlocked skills, and more are rewarded for each one. All eight structures that make up your village have two upgrades, the initial build and an improved version. Below we list what is required and awarded for each upgrade.
The upgraded huts are tougher to get done since they all require a specific rare skin. That means spending time hunting for rare versions of the wildlife that can be found throughout the world to receive the rare skin. Refer to our Resources chapter for an idea of where to find all of the materials.
Tribe Population Rewards
As your village population grows, you earn extra bags of weapon resources and bonus XP. The added 2% XP for every 10 rescued tribespeople really adds up and maxes out at 48% bonus—allowing you to grab skills at a faster pace. Add Wenja to your village by completing missions, secondary quests, and major landmarks whenever possible. It is possible to lose population too. Accidently killing a Wenja or taking too long rescuing someone can result in a loss. Notifications of additions and subtractions are given on the left side of the HUD.
