Setup

Once the Wenja are rescued from the Izila in The Taken Wenja mission, Fire Screamer Fort becomes available, which must be captured to gain access to the Izila Homeland and their leader, Batari. Head to their stronghold in the marshlands and spend some time surveying with your Owl, tagging every enemy force. Two Elite Spearmen guard your main target, Roshani, atop a plateau at the far end of the fort, while two Elite Slingers watch over the camp from watchtowers. Several more Elite soldiers patrol the grounds. At night, five of the hostiles sleep inside the hut.

Strategy

An alternate entrance on each side of the camp can be reached from the water, giving you quick access to the back half of the stronghold. If you wish to go after the mini-boss right away, access the western cliff and find the ivy at the south end that takes you down to a lower shelf. This gives you access behind the huts with a direct shot to Roshani and his immediate guards. Watch out for the Chieftain who patrols the path. If possible, take him down without alerting the others. From there, you and your beast can make quick work of the two Elite Spearmen and Roshani before reinforcements can reach you.

The more cautious approach is to methodically eliminate the Izila fighters, leaving Roshani for last. With three alarms and two Elite Slingers, it is very possible that reinforcements join the fight, so be ready. Work the two side water entrances to quietly take down the northern Izila. Next, pull each Elite Slinger from their post, staying clear of the big Chieftain who patrols to the south. If your Owl is able to attack Chieftains, have him do so when it is available. Always note the positions of Roshani’s two guards as they can call in reinforcements if you are spotted. Clear out the bottom of the camp before following the south path up to your target, where a lone Chieftain awaits. From the bushes, get his attention with a rock and perform a takedown as he gets near.

Call in a strong beast such as the Cave Bear or Sabretooth as you move in on the mini-boss. Send your companion after one Elite Spearman while you pick off the other with a bow or thrown spear. Now it is just Roshani against the two of you. With your beast tearing him to shreds, launch spears at him or move in with the club. It does not take too long for him to start pleading for his life. After a short talk, Takkar escorts the Izila commander back to the village, where you receive the Fire Bomb.
