From the icy, mountainous north wastes to the southern marshlands, Oros is an extraordinary, lively world and it begs to be explored. A variety of fauna and flora produces an array of resources, necessary for building a Wenja village and crafting gear. During your travels you discover new locations. Caves, campfires, and unknown locations earn you XP as well as a few perks. Navigate or fight your way through Lost Caves to find two types of collectibles, Daysha Hands and Cave Paintings. Doing so completes the cave and earns a decent amount of XP. Discovered campfires act as spawn points; die and you respawn at the closest one. Unknown locations earn you bonus points just for walking through a new area.

Lost Caves come in two varieties, navigation and combat. The former tends to be more complex, requiring you to find your way through a maze in order to gather the two collectibles. A fire in the first main room signifies the start of your exploration, as tricky jumps and grappling points challenge your platforming skills. The latter is just as it sounds, fight your way to the items. Udam, Izila, and/or wildlife occupy the cave. Using stealth or straight-up combat, find the Daysha Hand and Cave Painting to complete the cave and earn XP.
Prepare
It is a good idea to stock up on supplies before entering a cave. Some are big, complex systems that require a lot of time to explore. Clubs and Animal Fat are used to light your way while weapons are required to destroy stalactites, weak walls, and ivy that block the paths. Some caves require a grappling claw to navigate, while having a supply of Antidote is recommended to limit damage in rot fume areas. Sprinting through the poison gas also works, but remember to heal when needed.
Lighting the Way
Fire is an important asset inside the Lost Caves. Here are some valuable tips for using fire in the dark interiors:
- Light campfires and flammable materials inside the caves to provide more light and a source of fire for your weapons.
- Lighting floating wood offers a much-needed light when swimming in the murky waters below.
- Lit weapons are put out when entering water, but tossing the weapon onto dry land before getting wet maintains the fire.
- Thorny ivy blocks entryways and paths, but setting it ablaze opens the way. Icicles that get in your way are melted with fire arrows.
- Send a fire arrow across a big cavern to get a better look. Just be sure you have the spare materials to burn.
Clues
Look for clues as you hunt for Daysha Hands and Cave Paintings. Hunter Vision highlights clues, such as footprints, in red as they lead you the correct way. There are plenty of resources to collect too, so it can still be worthwhile to go off course.
Fireflies indicate important and useful locations. Arrows on the ground often mean you need to shoot something. Some grappling points are only accessible from a coil of rope on the ground. Always be aware of the clues around you.
Obstacles
Many obstacles block your path inside the caves. Thorns can be burnt down with fire. Icicles covering grappling points are melted with a fire arrow. Some big stalactites can be destroyed with a thrown club. Weak walls marked with three white marks and ice walls are knocked down with your club.
Enemies
Inside fighting caves, enemy tribespeople or aggressive wildlife occupy the area. Human enemies do not necessarily need to be fought to complete a cave. There are often ways to sneak by without a fight. Animals appear randomly inside the caves. One time through, you may not see any wildlife. The next time though may see half a dozen Dholes.
