Search and Rescue

Search and Rescue quests task you with saving a Lost Wenja by tracking their steps and searching for clues along the way. If you find and search each of the clues along the path to them, you are rewarded with a small amount of bonus XP. These clues are not needed to complete the quest. Rescued Wenja join your Village and increase the Population.

Search and Rescue: One

A Wenja hunting party was ambushed and killed by the Udam. Search for the lone Wenja who returned to avenge his dead brothers.

Difficulty: Very Hard

Awards: 1375-1595 XP, Population

Follow the bloody footprints to the cliff edge, carefully using the fallen tree to cross the gap. Farther up the path a single Scourge guards the first clue, a dead Udam with Wenja arrows stuck in him.

Look up from the clue and use the two grappling points to climb to the top of the mountain. A warrior is visible on the rocks to the east; kill him with your bow and then examine the dead Udam.

Two Udam Spearmen run toward the location of the clue. Kill them as they try to climb down to you, then use the climbing spots to move forward.

Another Spearman is further down the cliff’s edge. Use your bow to kill him from a distance, then carefully use the fallen tree to cross another gap in the mountain. Have your spear ready. You quickly come across an Udam Hunter, Spearman, and Chieftain.

Your spears allow you to quickly take out the Hunter and Spearman, leaving you to deal with the Chieftain by himself instead of facing all three at once. Once the Chieftain is dead, make sure you’ve crafted or picked up your spears as you face one more enemy before finding the missing Wenja.

The path leads you into a cave that is home to a Brown Bear. The Bear is busy sniffing the ground when you walk in, so throw a spear at its head and keep throwing spears until the Bear is dead. Once you’ve killed the Bear there are no other enemies, push farther into the cave and climb up to locate the lost Wenja. Speak to them to complete the quest.

Search and Rescue: Two

An Udam has been attacking Wenja and dragging them away. Search for his latest victim.

Difficulty: Hard

Awards: 1175 - 1363 XP, Population

Light a spear or club in the small camp where you accept the mission. Use your Hunter Vision to follow the footprints down the path.

A group of four Wolves guards your first clue, a broken pot, you can either try to kill them or use your already lit fire to scare them away and examine the clue.

After examining the clue, follow the blood trail west up the mountain. You reach a small campfire that you can use to warm up, or to reignite a weapon.

Follow the path farther and be ready for a surprise attack from a few Leopards. If you have your fire out, they quickly shy away once you point it in their direction. In the same area of this attack you come across a decapitated corpse. This corpse is your last clue before finding the missing Wenja; examine it to gain Bonus XP.

The path of blood leads into a cave; inside you find the heads of the two missing Wenja among a stack of skulls. Suddenly, Udam pour in from the mouth of the cave. Two Elite Warriors rush in; use your spears or two handed club to put them down quickly before the Elite Chieftain enters.

Try and kill the Chieftain before he works his way into the cave, this prevents you from getting into a close quarters fight, giving you the advantage.

The quest automatically completes once you have killed the Udam, avenging the deaths of the Wenja.

Search and Rescue: Three

Two Wenja are missing. Search for clues near the fishing spot.

Difficulty: Medium

Awards: 975-1131 XP, Population

After accepting the mission, activate Hunter Vision and follow the path down toward the southeast. Broken pots are scattered along the path. After a short walk, you find a broken pot surrounded by a pack of three Dholes.

Use your bow or spear to fight them off, then interact with the broken pot near the net on the ground. After interacting with the pot, equip your spear; you’ll need it in a moment.

Continue following the path leading southeast along the river, using your Hunter Vision to follow the trail of blood. Just before the path splits into two directions, a Wenja comes running toward you with a Bear right on his trail. Use your spears and aim for the head of the Bear, quickly killing it and saving the Wenja.

Speak to this Wenja and then follow them to the last Wenja. The remaining Wenja is located on a small platform in the cave behind the waterfall.

Search and Rescue: Four

Two Wenja Hunters are lost deep in Izila territory. Search for them.

Difficulty: Very Hard

Awards: 1175 XP, Population

Once you’ve accepted the quest, head west, following the tracks across the water into a small cavern.

At the mouth of the cavern three Izila Hunters are scouting the area. Keep your distance, staying crouched in the bushes, and call your Owl to get their exact positions, killing one of them if you have the ability.

Although they wear masks, you can still kill them in one shot to the head with your bow.

With the group of Hunters dead, head down the path where you come across an Elite Warrior and a patrolling Archer. Kill him with your bow, then take out the Elite Warrior who is crouched down inspecting a body.

Move up and inspect the body next to the Warrior, you find that it is one of the missing Wenja Hunters.

Use your Hunter Vision to follow the trail of blood. You find another team of Izila investigating a body.

Use your Owl to spot the locations of the Scourge, Spearman, and Elite Spearman that are guarding the body. There are plenty of bushes nearby that allow you to use your bow or spears while remaining concealed.

Examine the body in the camp; it is a dead Izila that has Wenja arrows protruding from its body. Your last encounter with the Izila is a few steps away. Pull out your spear and follow the trail of blood. A small stone encampment holds the missing Wenja.

Use your spear to quickly kill the Elite Spearman and Elite Warrior that are holding them captive. Then simply walk up to the Wenja and complete the quest.

Search and Rescue: Five

Two Wenja have escaped Izila captivity, but now one of them is missing. Search for her.

Difficulty: Medium

Awards: 975-1150 XP, Population

After accepting the quest, head east to find a Cave Lion guarding your first clue. You can either kill this Cave Lion or light one of your weapons on fire and move in to scare it off. Search the corpse next to some broken slave collars.

Climb the vines next to the waterfall, pulling yourself up onto the boulders above. Follow the blood that eventually leads you to cross the edge of the water. Don’t worry about the water pulling you over the edge of the waterfall, Takkar is very strong!

Use your Owl to locate the Izila Scourge and Slinger across the river. Once you’ve spotted them, use your bow or Owl to take them out, and then cross the river.

Two Wolves are harassing the Wenja from below the platform. Use your bow or spears to quickly dispatch the two Wolves and then speak to the Wenja on the platform to complete your mission.

Once you are at the other side you find another broken slave collar. Interact with it for bonus XP.

Follow the blood trail to a climbing point and then a large vine rope to the east. Once you’ve climbed the vines, an Izila Scourge is out near the water’s edge in the direction you need to go. Take him out with your bow, then stay along the rocks and perform a takedown on the next Izila enemy who is crouched down by the fire.

The blood trail leads into a cave, ending at a spot of water. Use your Hunter Vision to spot the fish and kill it with your bow or a spear before jumping into the water.

Take the underwater passage into the next area, pulling yourself up and finding the missing Wenja. Speak to them to complete the quest.

Search and Rescue: Six

The Izila have brought a Wenja to a nearby mountain for sacrifice. Search for him and stop the sacrifice.

Difficulty: Hard

Awards: 1175 XP, Population

Follow the trail north up a few climbing spots. You come across a camp containing three Izila enemies: an Elite Spearman, a Spearman, and a Warrior. Maintain distance and use your bow to kill off each enemy from the bushes, avoiding a melee fight.

Inside of the small camp you find a small broken pot next to the campfire which can be examined for bonus XP.

Continue following the path up the mountain. Stay crouched; there are three more Izila Spearmen ahead. Two of the Spearmen are engaged in a friendly bout. While they are distracted, take down the one closest to you and then focus on the other two. Using a bow from a distance can make short work of them, but the easiest way is to perform a takedown and then use the Chain Takedown skill to quickly kill both of them without alerting any other enemies.

Sneak into the center of the camp and locate the broken slave collar near the altar. Examine the collar for bonus XP.

Sneak toward the Slinger at the far end of the camp and perform a takedown. This is your last stop before facing the Izila who are holding the Wenja.

Stay in the bushes as you head north up the path to the final location of the Wenja. He is being guarded by a Chieftain, two Slingers, and a Spearman. Use your bow to take out the Slingers and Spearman from the bushes.

The Chieftain remains far enough away to not notice his allies dying. Eliminate him any way you see fit. Once all of the Izila are eliminated, move in and talk to the tied up Wenja to complete your quest.

Search and Rescue: Seven

The Udam tribe has captured Wenja for meat. Search for their camp to save the Wenja.

Difficulty: Hard

Awards: 1175 XP

After talking to the quest giver, head east down the hill to find the starting point. Accept the quest, enable Hunter Vision, and follow the blood trail southeast through the valley. Watch out for possible Udam as you move down the hill and across the water to find the first clue. A dead Wenja lies next to a Mammoth carcass.

Next, the trail heads north. Cautiously move into the clearing as Udam archers patrol the area. With help from your beast, kill them before going up the hill.

Follow the trail under the unstable snow and down the right path into a sheltered area. An Udam Spearman and Archer guard the path with their backs turned; use takedowns to kill them without detection. Examine another Wenja body that lies nearby.

Continue north through the water and up the other side. Kill the Udam at the top of the hill, including a dangerous Scourge. Just north at Hungry Hollow is an Udam camp. Stop before moving in and send your Owl ahead to scout the area.

Several Udam inhabit the camp, including a Chieftain who stands guard on the upper level. Send your beast after the Scourge first to take away his threat of poison and pick off as many enemies as you can from the area below. Move up the path to find the last Wenja body at the back of the camp. With no survivors, no one joins your village, but you do still earn a decent chunk of XP.

Search and Rescue: Eight

A Strange poison is killing the Izila. Search for clues to find the source.

Difficulty: Hard

Awards: 1175 XP, Population

After accepting the mission, use your Hunter Vision to follow the bloody footprints to the south. Have your spear out and ready to kill a handful of Dholes that are scattered throughout the forest. Kill them as you come across them to keep from being overrun.

Your first clue is a shattered pot next to some tools along the path of footprints. Continue following the footprints that lead along the riverbank. A group of Izila, consisting of two Spearman and one Scourge, are in your way. They are scattered pretty far from each other, allowing you to take each one out without the others being alerted.

Your next clue is just down the path, a dead Izila with a bite on his wrist.

Continue along the path as it begins to lead you a little further inland, away from the water. Once you are in an open area you are ambushed by two Spearmen and two Archers.

They do not advance, so use your bow to take them down. An Elite Chieftain spawns behind the enemies; use your beast to attack them once they appear.

Two warriors spawn to try and assist the Elite Chieftain. Kill them off and continue south toward the mountains.

Snakes line the path into the Cave of Whispers, which is your final destination in this quest. Use Hunter Vision to locate the snakes in the bushes and kill all three of them before moving into the cave. Examine the Izila in the cave to complete your quest.
