Overview

After building Jayma’s hut, enter and talk to the huntress. She challenges you to take on the Tall Elk at nighttime. The Elk is most likely your toughest hunt yet, so prepare. Once you are ready, head out to the far west at night to find the mission start.

Strategy

After accepting the mission, turn to the south and follow the path of the fireflies up the hill. Eventually you reach an overlook at Halchi Hunt Run. Wait for the Tall Elk to show up below and get things started with an arrow or spear to the head. These animals are tough, taking quite a bit of damage before going down, so be prepared. Immediately sic your beast on it as it flees the area. You must take it down before the Udam do, so quickly chase after it.

Watch out when you catch up to the beast, as it charges at you. Step to the side to avoid taking damage. When needed, be quick with a heal and get back in the fight. Kill the Udam Hunters whenever the opportunity arises, but your focus is the Elk. Keep your pet after your target as you continue to hit it with your most powerful weapons. Once it goes down, approach and skin it to complete the mission.
