Hyrule Kingdom is under attack from an evil army. Princess Zelda is leading her soldiers in a counter-attack, but no matter how many times they defeat the enemy, the evil army just keeps coming.
The Hyrule soldiers fight hard, but knowledge of this endless army is conveyed to every trainee at the Knight Training School.
"If the elite fighters can't drive back the enemy, what hope do I have?" the soldiers worry. They are swallowed by self-doubt, and lose hope.
Among them is a young man, fresh from training at the school and still holding his practice weapon. The young man's name is Link, and he is brimming with courage. He rushes out to the battlefield to face the enemy to save Princess Zelda and the kingdom of Hyrule.
The efforts of this novice soldier, Link, on the battlefield catches the attention of Impa, the leader of the royal bodyguards.
During his first battle, the hero Link drives away the mysterious and powerful enemy Volga, saves Princess Zelda, and pushes back the monsters. Finally the evil army is beginning to taste defeat.
Upon seeing his army of demons thwarted, the enemy sorcerer Wizzro uses his trump card, summoning a giant beast.
This beast approaches Hyrule castle, breathing fire, but Link does not falter. He leads the Hyrule soldiers in a fearless attack against the beast.
Despite the efforts of Link and the others, they find that Hyrule Castle has been taken by Wizzro, meaning the Hyrulean army has been defeated. To make matters worse, during the fierce battle, Princess Zelda disappeared. Link and Impa search all over the battlefield, but can’t find hide nor hair of the princess anywhere.
Seeing his incredible courage and uncanny strength, Impa sees the marks of the legendary hero in Link. She bestows upon him the Hero’s Clothes as proof of his destiny.
Link doesn't know if he's a hero or not, but in order to find Princess Zelda he teams up with Impa and her soldiers to find the princess and restore peace back to Hyrule.
