Friends in Need

Oh, no! Monsters have invaded Lake Hylia again, and Ruto and Darunia need a hero’s help!

Darunia is trapped just outside of the temple, and you must reach him—but the temple gate is sealed tightly. Three allied Engineers appear and race for the gate. Hurry and defeat the monsters to the north to clear the way for the Engineers. Cut down enemies with health bars first, especially those powerful Captains.

Whatever you do, don’t let the Engineers fall in battle—the enemy forces will receive a big boost to their morale, placing Darunia in grave danger. If an Engineer becomes wounded and calls out for aid, immediately rush over and heal him by moving close to him. Switch to Ruto to reach any Engineers that are too far away from Linkle.

Guide all three Engineers to the temple’s front gate, and they open it in short order. Rush north to Darunia, who is making a beeline toward Volga. The great Goron is likely being attacked by Lizalfos—hurry to his aid and slay all of the Lizalfos to ensure Darunia’s safety.

Hard Gold Skulltula Opportunity

In order to obtain this Scenario’s Hard Mode Gold Skulltula, Darunia must reach the Enemy Base without ever falling into danger along the way. This means you must race to his aid as soon as possible and prevent monsters from harming him. Don’t allow any of the Engineers to fall, and do everything in your power to hasten their journey to the temple gate. Once you reach Darunia, protect him from powerful monsters while he advances on the Enemy Base.

Chieftains’ Sneak Attack

Just as you reach Darunia, Volga springs his trap. He sends dangerous Dinolfos storming toward your base, followed by mighty Dinolfos and Lizalfos Chieftains. Switch to Ruto and intercept the Dinolfos while leaving Linkle to battle at Darunia’s side.

The Final Push

As you work at securing the Allied Base, a faction of Darunia’s forces appears up north. Command Ruto to defend the Allied Base, then switch back to Linkle and escort Darunia’s forces toward Volga. A hoard of monsters stands guard over Volga’s keep, so expect a tough battle all the way there.

Once Darunia reaches the Enemy Base, he calls out to Volga, challenging him to a fight. Volga obliges Darunia and opens the doors to his keep. The final battle is at hand!

Piece of Heart Opportunity

Before rushing off to battle Volga, take a moment to capture the Lakeside Keep. Once captured, a chest appears that contains a Piece of Heart for Linkle.
Gold Skulltula Opportunity

Have you hit 1,000 KOs yet? Once you do, hurry and grab the Gold Skulltula that appears on the wall just north of Temple Face Keep.
Heart Container Opportunity

Now that the Allied Base is safe from harm, send Ruto way up north to claim a Heart Container. It is kept in a treasure chest that’s covered by a boulder near the northernmost outpost.
Hard Gold Skulltula Opportunity

If Darunia reached the Enemy Base without falling into danger along the way, the Hard Mode Gold Skulltula appears. Find it behind the thick vines to the north of Temple Face Keep. Use the Boomerang to chop down the vines and claim your prize.

Defeat Volga!

Volga awaits in his keep, eager to take you on. When you’re ready to end the mission, enter the Enemy Base and challenge Volga. Battle the Dragon Knight as you’ve done before: Dodge his powerful attacks and then counter with a flurry after his Weak Point Mark appears. Keep it up until Volga is no more!
