Strange New World
Ganon’s defeat at Hyrule Castle came with an unexpected surprise. Without warning, a mysterious new world suddenly appeared, prompting Impa to summon Link to investigate. Entering this unfamiliar dimension, Link encountered a young pirate girl named Tetra, who was battling against vicious monsters. The two joined forces to take on the enemy.
You’ve got to stop those monsters! Run to the north, cutting through the evil creatures until Link catches sight of a giant stone head. This curious object is in your way, and you must find some way to destroy it. For now, simply capture the nearby outpost.
That stone head sure is a puzzling obstacle, but you’ve more pressing concerns: Monsters have captured the nearby Bomb Shop! Hurry back to the south and fight to reclaim the Bomb Shop from the freaky fiends that have overrun it.
Hammer Time
Capturing the Bomb Shop opens its south gate, letting you step out onto a small ledge. Hey, there’s a treasure chest out here! Open it to obtain a new item: the Hammer.
Grabbing the Hammer causes a gate to slam shut behind you. Not to worry! Simply use the Hammer to pound the big switch behind the treasure chest. Hammering this switch opens the gate, letting you return to the action.
Big Blin Blitz
By the time you return with your newfound Hammer, a horde of Big Blins and dangerous Ruffians will be storming toward the Allied Base. Take a moment to defeat these cretins before they reach the Allied Base and cause any damage.
Hard Mode Skulltula OpportunityYou must be playing as Link and using the Fire Rod if you wish to score this Scenario’s Hard Gold Skulltula. In addition, the Allied Base must never fall into danger. There are other stipulations, as well, but keep this one in mind throughout the battle. If the Allied Base is ever attacked, rush to its defense immediately! |
The Helmaroc King’s Wrath
As you battle the Big Blins, a monstrous bird suddenly swoops down on the Bomb Shop. It’s the Helmaroc King! Race to the Bomb Shop and swipe at the Giant Boss to make it flee the scene. Don’t get too comfortable—it will return before long!
From this point forward, you’ll need to defeat inbound Big Blins and Ruffians while simultaneously driving off the Helmaroc King each time it returns. Tetra can help you with this, as can the owl statue that’s already active to the east.
Head Games
When a chance permits, go north from the Bomb Shop, returning to the giant stone head that you noticed before. The Hammer can’t shatter the stone head directly, but it can activate the nearby switch to the west. Pound the switch with the Hammer to cause the nearby ship to fire its cannon at the stone head. The blast smashes the stone head to bits, opening up a passage to the Central Keep.
Use Tetra to defend the Allied Base and nearby Keeps while advancing northward with Link. The Central Keep is guarded by a new enemy called a Chuchu. It will hurt you if you attack it directly, so whack it with the Hammer to stun it first. Capture the Central Keep afterward to open its north door, then activate the owl statue beyond.
After securing the Central Keep and activating the owl statue, go west and seize the Jail Watch Keep. This is one of three Keeps that are producing those pesky Ruffians; capture it to halt its Ruffian production cycle.
Two more stone heads must be shattered in order to gain access to the two remaining Ruffian-producing Keeps. One stone head lies up north; the other lies to the west. Head for whichever one you like, and use the Hammer to pound the nearby switches that lie near the docked ship close to each stone head. Once you’ve smashed a stone head, advance and capture the Keep beyond to reduce the enemy’s Ruffian production even further.
Go After Gohma
His grip on the battle slipping, Boss Blin summons a monstrous Gohma to storm your base shortly after you capture the second Ruffian-producing Keep. Drop everything and warp to the southeast owl statue, then sprint north to intercept the Gohma on its way to the School of Joy. If you like, command Tetra to join you in the fight so that you gain special advantages.
Piece of Heart Opportunity Moments after releasing Gohma, Boss Blin opens the Star Island Keep to send even more monsters against you. Wipe out these evil beasts and then capture the Star Island Keep to reveal a treasure chest. Open it with Link to obtain a Piece of Heart. |
Hard Mode Skulltula OpportunityIf you’re playing as Link and using the Fire Rod, and if you’ve defeated Gohma and destroyed all three of the stone heads without ever allowing the Allied Base to fall into danger, then the Hard Gold Skulltula appears just east of the Enemy Base. Hurry up there and use the Boomerang to reach it before it flees! |
Deafeat Boss Blin!
Things settle down quite a bit once the Gohma is no more. Work at capturing Keeps if you like, or simply strike out to challenge Boss Blin at the Enemy Base. He’s basically just a bigger, meaner, shinier version of the Big Blins and Ruffians you’ve faced all along. Dodge his crushing blows and counter with swift combos to topple Boss Blin in a blink!
