Back to the Past

Having conquered the land of Hyrule, Cia has grown even more powerful. Enticed by Ganondorf’s sinister whispers, the dark sorceress uses her newfound power to open portals to other eras of Hyrule’s storied past. Sensing great power emanating from the Era of Twilight, Cia sets forth to investigate.

Stepping through the portal, Cia finds herself in the midst of a furious battle between two warring forces. The armies of the Twilight Princess, Midna, are rallying to repel a tide of monsters called forth by the vile Usurper King, Zant. This is the perfect opportunity to subjugate both forces! Begin by capturing the nearby Southeast Square, which is controlled by Zant’s forces.

By the time you capture the Southeast Square, Zant will have dispatched a trio of ReDead Knights to assault your ally, Volga. Race to intercept them or they overwhelm Volga and force a valuable ally from the field.

Shortly after Zant dispatches his ReDead Knights, Midna sends out four Darknut to storm your Allied Stronghold. Wizzro is defending the Allied Stronghold; switch to Wizzro and defeat the Darknut after you’ve dealt with the ReDead Knights.

Taking the Twilight

Things settle down a bit after you’ve repelled the Darknut. Secure the Allied Stronghold, then advance northward along the battlefield’s west side, capturing Midna’s outposts and defeating her Captains as you storm toward her palace. Leave one character back at the Allied Stronghold to defend it from any potential surprise attacks.

Heart Container Opportunity

Advance northward with Wizzro to claim his Heart Container. Bomb the boulder that lies just north of the West Palace to find it. (Note that the West Palace doesn’t become an active Keep until later in this Scenario.)

Gold Skulltula Opportunity

With two enemy forces to fight, it won’t take long for you to whip up 1,000 KOs. Keep tabs on your KO count and be ready to bomb the boulder that lies just south of the E. Palace Entrance. The 1,000 KO Gold Skulltula hides beneath that boulder.

Midna’s Maneuver

Witnessing her forces faltering under your assault, Midna hints that she has a “reserve plan.” She won’t enact this plan until you enter the North Palace. Command Wizzro to defend the Allied Stronghold, and when he arrives there, send Cia to storm the North Palace.

The moment you enter the North Palace, Midna springs her trap. A number of dangerous Assault Troops appear just south of the West Square and West Palace (which are still inactive), and they begin streaking toward your Allied Stronghold. It won’t take them long to get there, and they’ll damage your base if they manage to slip inside. Immediately switch to Wizzro and hurry north to intercept the Assault Troops before they reach your base. You won’t have to fight them alone; Volga advances on the Assault Troops, as well.

Sneak Attack

After you’ve repelled the Assault Troops, switch back to Cia and finish capturing the North Palace. Capturing this Keep opens its east door; go east and loop around to slip into King’s Hall, where Midna is holed up. Battle Midna and reduce her health to dangerous levels to force her hand.

Midna’s OTHER Maneuver

Just when it seems that victory is within your grasp, Midna springs another trap. The West Square and West Palace Keeps—which had been inactive up to this point—suddenly fall under Midna’s control. Their southern doors slam shut, effectively dividing the battlefield in half. Don’t be distracted; finish Midna off to drive her from the field, and capture King’s Hall.

Your victory over Midna only serves to strengthen Zant’s resolve. The odious Usurper King’s forces gain morale, and Zant springs a trap of his own. The southeast Fairy Fountain suddenly opens, and Captains loyal to Zant’s banner march forth to attack the Southeast Square, followed by the Allied Stronghold. Switch to Wizzro and confront these dangerous monsters while commanding Cia to capture the West Palace and West Square.

Piece of Heart Opportunity

Now that the West Palace is active, look for a chance to capture it with Cia. This makes a treasure chest materialize, which contains a Piece of Heart for the dark sorceress.

Agitha and Argorok Arrive

Shortly after opening the Fairy Fountain, Zant summons his champion: the angry dragon, Argorok. Agitha also appears around this time, hoping to lend Midna’s forces a hand. Argorok is the greater threat, for it begins bombarding the Allied Stronghold with fireballs from afar. Send Cia to battle Argorok and put an end to its fireball barrage.

Hard Gold Skulltula Opportunity Continued

If Volga has survived up to this point, then you’re still in the running for the Hard Gold Skulltula. Simply defeat Argorok and Agitha to make the Hard Gold Skulltula appear to the north of the West Palace and West Square.

Defeat Zant

After seeing his mighty dragon fall to Cia’s unstoppable might, Zant decides to cut his losses and flee the scene. He sprints out from his base, heading south toward the Fairy Fountain. You fail this Scenario if Zant manages to escape, so send Wizzro after him immediately. Volga will move to intercept Zant, as well; finish him off with powerful attacks to bring the Usurper King under your boot!
