Cia's Tale: Darkness Falls

Evil Vs. Evil

Betrayed by the villainous Ganondorf, Cia is left with few options. The Demon King has mustered his forces at the foot of Cia’s stronghold, and the final battle for evil supremacy looms. Will Cia survive Ganondorf’s assault? Her fate is in your hands!

There’s no time to dally in this frantic battle. Immediately activate the nearby owl statue to the north, then hurry and defend the West Keep from the advancing Gohma. Defeat the Gohma, then hurry over to the East Keep and assist Volga in defeating the other Gohma. Remember that you must shoot Gohma in the eye with the Bow while its eye is blue.

Activate the east owl statue after downing the second Gohma, then warp back to the central owl statue and hurry to the south. Ganondorf has likely summoned Manhandla by now, and the Giant Boss bombards your Allied Base with a long-range seed strike. Hurry and defeat Manhandla, blocking its attacks and countering with the Boomerang to expose the monster’s Weak Point gauge.

The traitorous Wizzro appears in the West Ruins as you combat Manhandla, and quickly summons a host of Icy Big Poes. These powerful monsters immediately advance on your base, but Manhandla remains the greater threat. Focus on chopping down Manhandla, relying on the Dark Links that Cia soon summons to keep the Icy Big Poes and other advancing monsters occupied.

Hard Gold Skulltula Opportunity If you’re after the Hard Gold Skulltula, you must play as Cia and race to defeat Wizzro rather than battling Manhandla. Your Dark Links won’t last long against so many inbound monsters, and you must defeat Wizzro before any of your Dark Links fall below 60% health. Succeed in this effort, and the Hard Gold Skulltula will appear just north of the East Temple. Warp to the east owl statue, then sprint south to snatch it.

Volga’s Challenge

While you’re whomping away on Manhandla, Volga decides to take matters into his own hands. The Dragon Knight marches on the Enemy Base and issues a challenge to Ganondorf. The Demon King sees no benefit in a duel with Volga and instead raises a Barrier of Darkness, sealing off the Enemy Base and southern lands. Seeing no way to breach the barrier, Volga takes his leave of the field for the time being.

Race to the Base

The moment that you defeat Manhandla, immediately warp to the central owl statue and then race up north to defend the Allied Base. It’s likely overrun with monsters by now, so hurry inside and dispatch all unwelcomed guests. Prioritize the Assault Troops, followed by the Icy Big Poes and any other enemy Captains. Keep swinging until the Allied Base is secure, then mop up any monsters lurking outside.

Treasure Hunting

Wizzro continues to summon powerful monsters, but each new summoning saps his strength. You must defeat the traitor eventually, but allow Wizzro to weaken himself while you focus on conquering the map and hunting down valuables. Go west and activate the last remaining owl statue, then start capturing Keeps and outposts to strengthen your forces. Keep an eye out for advancing enemy Captains and cut them down, as well.

Piece of Heart Opportunity While conquering the map, be sure to capture the East Temple. Doing so reveals a treasure chest that contains a Piece of Heart for Cia.

Gold Skulltula Opportunity Work at reaching 1,000 KOs before you wallop Wizzro, and nab the Gold Skulltula that appears up north near the Allied Base.

Walloping Wizzro

When the entire north half of the map is bathed in beautiful blue, march down to the West Ruins and battle Wizzro. The traitor has likely weakened himself significantly by now and should pose little threat. Defeat Wizzro to draw the great Ganondorf out of hiding.

Ganondorf Arrives

Enraged at Wizzro’s defeat, Ganondorf storms onto the field. The Demon King summons additional forces, and his Keeps open their doors, granting you access to the south half of the map once more.

Things are looking grim, but as luck would have it, Volga returns to the field. Cia’s other half, the heroic sorceress, Lana, also appears, and wishes to help Cia defeat the Demon King. You’re granted direct control over the Volga at this point; command him to escort Lana, who quickly advances on the Enemy Base.

Heart Container Opportunity Before beating Fi, bomb the boulder in the abandoned Fairy Fountain in the middle of the map to discover a Heart Container for Volga. Be sure to grab before fighting Fi!

While Volga escorts Lana, use Cia to dispatch the inbound Attack Specialists before they can wreak too much havoc. Switch to Volga if Lana ever cries out for help, but otherwise, focus on repelling Ganondorf’s Captains with Cia. After all Attack Specialists have fallen, hurry to the south and assist Volga in escorting Lana to the Enemy Base.

Defeat Ganondorf

Upon reaching the Enemy Base, Lana uses her power to dispel Ganondorf’s sinister Barrier of Darkness, significantly weakening the Demon King. Now’s your chance! Unleash your most powerful combos and give Ganondorf the thrashing that he so richly deserves. Punish his Weak Point gauge at every chance, and don’t relent until the Demon King is at last dethroned!
