Mutators
Mutators are special rules that can have…unusual effects on the battlefield.
Ranging from flowers for blood to giant heads, these effects are generally not especially serious. They’re just for fun, to add a bit of spice or silliness to your matches. You can enable Mutators for private matches, or watch for playlists from Epic when they turn them on for special events and holidays.
Easy
These Mutators give you an easier time in the game.
Easy Mutators
| Mutator | Description | How to Unlock |

| Comet | When you Roadie Run, you build up energy until you ignite into a fireball that you can unleash on impacting enemies. | Gold “Shock Trooper” medal. (Versus mode) |
| Instagib Melee | Melee causes instant death. | Kill 200 enemies while playing a Wretch in Beast (Beast mode) |
| Super Reload | Easier Active Reloads. | Bronze “Master at Arms” Medal (Versus mode) |
| Infinite Ammo | Unlimited clips of ammo, though you still must reload between clips. | Earn 100 “Combat Engineer” Ribbons (Horde mode) |
| Big Explosions | Explosions have bigger blast radius. | Earn 100 “Hail Mary” Ribbons (Arcade, Beast, Horde, Versus modes) |
Hard
These Mutators make the game a little tougher.
Hard Mutators

| No Ammo Pickups | Gets rid of ammo boxes on map. | Unlocked at start |
| Enemy Regeneration | Enemy’s health regenerates. | Silver “Afficianado” Medal (Arcade mode) |
| Vampire | Health does not regenerate, but every point of damage you inflict heals you in kind. | Earn 100 “Executioner” Ribbons (Versus mode) |
| Must Active Reload | You must achieve an Active Reload to reload your weapon. | Silver “Active Reloader” Medal |
| Friendly Fire | Gunfire hurts your own team. | Complete the campaign in 4-player co-op (Co-op Campaign) |
Fun
These Mutators create fun effects with no effect on gameplay.
Fun Mutators

| Headless Chicken | Enemies attack each other for several seconds after they lose their heads. | Unlocked at start |
| Laugh Track | Play as if your game was filmed before a live studio audience. | Bronze “Tour of Duty,” “For the Horde,” “I’m a Beast,” and “Warmonger” Medals |
