The Wind Trial
Guinevere, Shrine of the Wind Trial
There's a save point immediately in front of you when you enter the square. You might want to use it.
In front of the shrine, a human falls from the top of the structure, and Sorey armatizes with Dezel to save him. The man is unconscious, but alive. Following him down is Dullahan, a powerful hellion, with Zaveid hot on its heels. Looks like Zaveid has been doing some training of his own at the shrine. Sorey intervenes before Zaveid can kill Dullahan, and Dezel tries to figure out how Zaveid can kill on his own. Edna and Zaveid seem to know each other, and once again Zaveid insists on a battle.

Zaveid is still a tough opponent. Make sure to evade his powerful seraphic artes, which have predictable attack areas, but can damage anyone near him. Try to have your party spread out so that his attacks effect as few members as possible. Watch out for his mystic arte, which can easily take out any of your party members. After the battle, Zaveid pops back up and agrees to let the group attempt to quell Dullahan. Dezel grills him about how he’s able to kill hellions, and Zaveid explains how his gun provides him with the energy to do so, albeit at a cost. He takes off, and you’re free to deal with the guy you saved and then head up the tower.
It turns out that the man was trying to kill himself as a sacrifice to the gods. He doesn’t believe that Sorey is the Shepherd. You can choose from three options:
Try to convince him of the truth.
Well, at least you get him to go back to the guards.
Show him an example of the Shepherd’s power.
Edna will help put on a display that scares the crap out of the guy.
Leave him alone.
Well, if you don’t want to bother, you can let him believe what he will.
Approach the side of the shrine to trigger a cutscene where the party notices that the stairwell leading to the top is broken. They decide that route would leave them vulnerable and is not worth the risk. Collect the nearby chest and herbs, and head to the front door. The first few floors are simple enough; find the glowing green tiles on the floor that will take you up to the next level. Soon enough, however, things get more complicated.
Starting on the central levels, there are large walls or doors that can be moved by activating wind symbols using Wind Rush while standing next to them. These wind switches control the doors, but remember that when you move a door, it slides either up or down, and will then block part of another floor. You’ll have to do some backtracking to make it all the way up.
On the eastern edge of the 9th floor is a save point and a doorway leading outside. Activate the save point and head out to traverse the final portion of the ascent. Outside the doorway, the group meets another former Shepherd-turned-protector-seraph, Wardell. He tells them that they need only reach the top of the structure, and then he will decide how he feels about them and if they are worthy of the spiritual power.

BOSS
Continue up the stairs until you reach the top. At the star, a figure appears to be standing at the edge of one of the walkways. It’s a girl who has come up here to commit suicide. Approach her and the group will talk to her. Suddenly, Dullahan appears, and his approach knocks the girl off the ledge. She hangs on, dangling by her hands, and Dezel and Sorey race past Dullahan to save her while Mikleo and Rose distract the hellion. The girl admits to not wanting to die, and Sorey gives her some words of encouragement. Dezel grudgingly approves of her new resolve, and the team regroups to face the hellion.
Dullahan is an Undead Hellion, which means that he will gradually recover 25% of the damage he receives. This will prolong the battle, but you can block this ability by inflicting him with a status ailment. Luckily, Dullahan staggers, takes on ailments, breaks concentration easily against his two element weakness—Non-Elemental and Fire—making Sorey, Rose, and Lailah ideal for this battle. Throughout the battle, he'll try to call in assistance from various hellions within the Shrine—it's a hidden arte, so break it with your own powerful hidden artes or a seraphic arte if you can. If Dullahan succeeds, it's a good time to armatize with Lailah to take down the enemies around you with your powerful Fire area-of-effect artes. Focus on offense while keeping an eye on your party's health, and you'll bring the headless horseman down.
Once the battle is over, Sorey tells the girl that Dezel saved him, and she thanks the seraph profusely. Head back to speak with Wardell who will deem the group worthy of the spiritual power of wind. Dezel is contemptuous of the seraph’s talk about the power of friendship, but Wardell tells him that making it through the trial is already proof of his bonds with the Shepherd and the rest of the party.
The party decides that it’s time to take on Heldalf, now that they have the powers of all four elements and decide to return to Glaivend Basin. When you gain control of Sorey again, Dezel's title "Wind of Vengeance" raises to "Verdant Green" and you can now use the mystic arte "Sylphystia" while armatized with him. For completing all four trials, Sorey's title "Shepherd" changes to "Grand Shepherd." Return to the 9F save point and warp to Volgran Forest since Glaivend Basin warp points are not available at the moment. From there, head into Glaivend Basin and approach the military outpost to meet with some of the Sparrowfeathers.
The Talfryn twins report that the Pendrago imperial family wants to secure the services of the Scattered Bones, and Rose decides to take on the job. She plans to sneak into Pendrago castle by herself, but Sorey volunteers to go with her since the imperial family appears to have gotten involved with hellions. Dezel is excited to finally have a chance to get his revenge.
The Pendrago warp points are currently unavailable, so warp to Pearloats Pasture at the "Exit Leading to East Meadow" save point and make your way to Pendrago from there.
