Welcome to Lakehaven Heights! Make use of the Save Point just ahead. As you continue along the path, you’ll see roaming wolves and coiled snakes. Though they seem like wild animals, they’re actually hellions! Your party members (in this case, Mikleo) will give you tips on how to battle a certain type of hellion the first time you encounter one.

Snag a Life Bottle from the chest on the right of the path, and then check out the signage next to the path as it turns left. Right behind the sign is a rock that you can walk out on—do so for a nice view and a Discovery Point, “Natural Lookout Point”. First Trip to the Land Below is the skit that goes with it. Make sure to check this out now, as the skit will become unavailable after you obtain more party members.

Cross the stream and examine the monolith on the other side. Following the path alongside the stream, Mikleo and Sorey discuss the map within the Celestial Record. You can now access the World Map by pressing R3 outside of battle.

Blocking the path to Ladylake is a stopped cart. Activate the save point and then check out the situation. Try speaking to the dog to hear an amusing exchange between Sorey and Mikleo.

Speak to the girl with the star over her head. She introduces the caravan members as the Sparrowfeathers, a merchant guild, and the man next to her introduces himself as Eguille, the captain. The girl’s name is Rose, and if you speak to her again shortly after (the option isn’t available anymore after you walk away from the Sparrowfeathers), she’ll offer to buy Alisha’s Royal Knife for 1000 gald. There are a few different ways to solve a plot progression puzzle later on, and one of the options doesn’t require you to sell anything. If you do sell something, you’ll have a chance to get it back later in the game..

Sell the royal knife?

Yes, sell the knife.

Rose will give you 1000 gald. You’ll have to do an errand for the Sparrowfeatherslater in order to get the knife back.

No, don’t sell the knife.

You’ll have another chance to sell the Sparrowfeathers something later, if you decide to do so.

Walk away from the caravan to overhear an interesting tidbit: Alisha is actually a princess! Sounds like she made it back to the city alive, but the hellion could still be on her trail. Speak with the knight to the left of the cart to do your entrance paperwork. While you’re talking, the cart gets fixed up and clears the way. The Sparrowfeathers head on in, and Sorey and Mikleo are free to enter the city.
