Haunting giggles and eerie writing set a very unnerving atmosphere. Explore each room on the lower level before heading upstairs to do the same; with the locked doors, there is only one set path you can follow through the museum. Don’t forget to find the Discovery Point: "Statue of the Conqueror" in the upstairs side room, or to search beneath the staircase for the Monolith, treasure chest, and herb before crossing over to the final hallway. Activate the save point, and then head into the final room for a boss battle.

Resistance

This battle is tough, but with Edna’s help you can bring the animated suit of armor to its knees. Use Edna’s ranged attacks to keep the foe staggered while doing sizable amounts of damage. Interrupt any casting with Sorey’s martial artes, and let Lailah help chip away at the enemy’s HP using her arte attacks since they’ll deal more damage; with its Resistance to water, Mikleo will be better used as a support character for this battle. Armatize with Edna and don’t be shy about using BG to unleash some Banish Blasts to deal additional damage to speed the battle along. If you need to get in close, it’s best to armatize with Edna and use Rock Satellite first, as this will allow you to stagger your enemy when you get close enough, while also providing some protection.

After the battle, the enemy is revealed to be… a normin! These cute little guys are very useful, and now that Atakk is back to his normal self, you can begin hunting down all 50 of the normin scattered across the continent. Once found, normin can be assigned to areas in order to increase the chances of item drops with their particular skills attached. This is very useful for fusing, so if you want to get the most out of your equipment, make sure to set normin before farming for item drops.

After the battle, Alisha's titles: "Lance Piercer", "Lance Fender", and "Lance Duelist" increase in rank. Follow Atakk to the entrance of the museum as he recalls his sad story of becoming a hellion. He'll want to be left alone, so leave the museum for now. Edna tells you to go to the base of the great tree, where the party waits as she goes back to talk to Atakk alone.

Resistance

After talking to Edna, Attak offers to help you purify the Drake. The weapon shop is closed for now, but the inn is open if you need to heal. Otherwise, head to the house at the edge of the large clearing. There, from the roof, Mikleo and Sorey armatize and take aim at the circling Drake. With Atakk’s power boost, the arrow strikes true and brings down the young dragon.

You’ve managed to bring it down, but now you’ve got to take it out. Unfortunately, this hellion is resistant to the elemental powers of your current seraphs, so this will be a tough battle. You begin the battle armatized with Mikleo, but you'll want to split up and use all armatization mainly for healing. Hitting foes with their resistance uses more of your SC and increases their chance to guard, so you'll want Alisha and Sorey to lay in with their Non-Elemental artes (or better yet, Sorey's wind martial arte True Fang) until they trigger a Power Combo to negate its resistance.  When it’s in flight, try to knock it down. Low-hitting attacks won’t do much good while he’s aloft, but will be more effective when he’s grounded. If you have artes that are effective against winged or dragon-type enemies, use those liberally (Sorey’s Trihawk and Earth Dragon Fang, Alisha’s Dragon Floret, and Lailah’s Twisting Dragon are good choices). Also, the Drake uses a lot of powerful hidden artes that will leave you vulnerable if you're using your martial artes, so always allow yourself the chance to guard or dodge.

After the battle, the purified Drake is restored to his former self: Seraph Rohan. The ashamed seraph agrees to become the area’s Lord of the Land using the city’s Great Tree as a vessel, but a powerful nearby hellion is preventing him from expanding the blessed domain. For now, rest at the inn and regain your strength.

Mercenaries for Hire

In the morning, the Sparrowfeathers arrive in town, bringing with them the shipment of Plague Medicine from Neif. Rose passes on a message from Neif about mercenaries who may be able to help Marlind while reinforcements are being gathered from the capital, and Sorey and Alisha decide to ask them to protect the city while they hunt down the nearby hellion.

Head over to the star on the map. The mercenaries just finished taking care of some hellionized wild dogs, and Sorey asks for their help. The leader, Lucas, sets a price of 5000 gald for the job. If you don’t have enough, you can come back after selling some items. Once you agree to the price, Lucas will accept the job and return 2500 gald. Now you can leave the city! Before leaving Marlind, check out the Great Tree—now that the Lord of the Land is restored, you can find the Discovery Point: "Flowers of the Great Tree." You'll want to find it now while you can still catch the skit.

Tip

Eavesdropping on Townsfolk: If you’re looking for a new dungeon to explore, or when you want to take on a challenging boss hellion for some extra experience and items, swing by a town and listen to what the locals are saying. They’ll tip you off to new side quests and difficult optional enemies.
