Mission Reward: Unlock Wingsuit, Dual Tether, and Planted Explosives
Dimah talks to you about your grapple, Bavarium, and the state of Medici. There’s so much potential here, but you must get everything that Dimah needs before moving forward. It sounds like she’s ready to take that step.
Try out the grapple under Dimah’s instructions. She asks you to reel yourself toward things a couple of times, and try out your parachute partway through. This is a valuable skill for gaining altitude and control while using your grapple, so the practice is welcome.
The next step is to meet Dimah again. While traveling there, use grapple, reel in, parachute, and grapple a new target. This chain allows Rico to quickly traverse huge swaths of countryside. He can keep up with vehicles, escape enemies, and enjoy the lovely sites of Medici.
Grapple and fly to the marked objective to continue. Dimah works on your glove a bit more to reduce the chance of sudden detonations (a good thing, right?).
Liberate Guardia Alpha
After another scene, you can mess with the new settings on your glove. Try out the tether functions. Once you feel comfortable, tether an explosive barrel to the fence ahead of Rico. The barrel is pulled into the fence and explodes, making the way into the next plant much easier for everyone.
For even more fun, tether the fuel containers ahead onto each other. This pulls them down, creating havoc. You can also keep tethering explosive barrels to the tanks around the compound.
Meet Dimah and then Reach the Bridge
Follow your next objective and meet Dimah on the cliffs. She gives you an upgrade. Rico now has a wingsuit! Flying around was already quite doable, but now it’s easy. Jump off of the cliff and try your new feature out. Glide to the bridge below the cliffs and land there.
You keep hearing about this Bavarium stuff, but now is the time to try out its more destructive properties. Dimah secretly stashed some GE-64 on you. This is a relatively stable compound that you use to destroy heavy emplacements.
Put two sets of GE-64 on the bridge, as marked by your objectives, and then get to a vantage point high above the bridge.
Wait up there for an enemy convoy to approach, and then take out the bridge when there are multiple vehicles near the middle of the structure. So much for those poor folks, but there is still more work to be done.
Glide down the cliff to a SAM site. Hack the two batteries while killing or avoiding the enemy soldiers nearby. The sites are easy to hack; you only need to approach them and interact with the batteries. Once they’re under your control, use them to ambush and destroy the approaching wave of helicopters.
Talk to Dimah and Mario on the commlink after the choppers have been destroyed. Use your newfound powers of flight to pull Rico across the island, toward Mario’s marker. Granmatre Frigo has prepared dinner, and you’re invited!
You and Mario have a good conversation when you arrive. This is where the two of you solidify your plan of attack against the General.
After dinner, you hear from Alessia. She’s in charge of the rebel’s radio program. You can tell that she’s in the know, because she has already heard that you’re planning to go after the Vis Electra plant. This power plant is west of your current position. Another place that needs your help is northeast. It’s the town of Manaea. Liberations are covered in another chapter; this section of the guide deals only with Story missions.
Liberate Vis Electra and Manaea as you please, then look for a mission that starts near the docks on the southern end of Manaea. You can even select this ahead of time while scrolling through your map. Make a waypoint to find the location easily and begin the mission as soon as you get there!
