The action resumes in the southwest. Rose Manuela, the leader of the people, is returning to the country. She’s flying in and Rico is going down there to make sure that everything is safe enough for her return.
Go to Grotta Contrabandero once again, and start this mission whenever it feels right.
Get into the jet fighter that’s parked nearby. Fly several kilometers to rendezvous with President Manuela’s plane, and make contact with her pilot when you get close. It’s a surprise to no one at all that you aren’t the only craft inbound. Enemy fighters are already closing in!
Use your homing missiles to take out the enemy fighters as quickly as you can. Even if you’re perfect, President Manuela’s plane is going to take damage and start going down. Finish the enemy targets and get close enough to the other plane to grapple onto it. This is a very tricky maneuver, and the game reloads you into a much more advantageous position if you fail this the first time, so don’t stress out about it.
To make your attempt, fly close to Rosa’s plane and drop some of your airspeed. Try to match the speed of her craft so that this is as easy as possible. Use the Stunt button to get onto the roof of your airplane, and then grapple onto hers. Once again, this is easy the second time because they load you in a perfect spot to do it automatically.
Take over for the pilot, who has had some medical complications, and land the craft at the airstrip marked on your map. Don’t dive too aggressively into the runway or else you might crash the plane. Take it easy!
The mission ends after you land.
