Tips: Excavators
To destroy an Excavator, you must destroy its eight generators on the top platform. There are four on each side of the Excavator. Most Excavators are equipped with Capstone FH155s on each side, which allows you to destroy them pretty quickly. Just be aware that when you destroy the final generator that the main platform dangerously explodes, so clear out when you blow up the last one. Also, use the Capstones on military assets around the Excavators (such as the refinery stations) before you blow up the Excavator.
There’s also the excavation arm that you must destroy. If destroying the eight generators does not destroy the Excavator, make sure that the excavation arm has been destroyed, as well. We typically attack the arm first. There are many target points there, but the two weakest are the joints on the extension closest to the platform. Target these with explosives or rockets to blow them up quickly. Sometimes these two joints aren’t enough to bring the arm down and you must hit another target farther up the arm.
Bavarium Dump Trailers
Bavarium dump trailers, like a few other targets, blow up a lot quicker if you remove a certain panel first. In this case, shoot at the back door of the trailer and then shoot again into the trailer to explode the Bavarium. A rocket launcher does this all with one shot.
Commander Battle
The base commander flies into the scene with a Bavarium-shielded Urga MSTitel. If you hacked the SAM site, then every time his shields go down, that SAM will hit its mark. The easiest and quickest way to take him out is to grapple to the aircraft when the shields go down, enter it, and throw the commander out. Make sure he’s dead when he hits the ground. And then use his helicopter to destroy the military targets.
